Question about Carrier Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Is it correct that Carrier had 5 year waranty back in 2007?

I have a Bryant/Carrier Evolution 96 with Infinity controls. Installed 2007. Currently the Inducer won't start every time.....but does eventually. I'm told $1250 for new Inducer installed since Carrier only had a 5 year warranty. Is this correct? Anybody have any thoughts on lowering the cost of the Inducer replacement?

Try looking up your own warranty. Check carrier warranty on your model and serial number located on data plate on machine

Zone control not working

These are both power open and closed. Yellow and green should be constant on the leds. C&D is your 24 volts for the controls. If you got power going in but nothing coming out of the board it is bad. If you got 24 going to the damper but damper not responding obviously it's bad. Usually communication is DC voltage, likely 12 or 13 DC at A&B. Good Luck!!

CARRIER INFINITY WEATHERMAKER WHERE IS THE RESTART SWITCH

Carrier Infinity systems, do not have a manual reset switch. It will have an automatic reset depending on the failure.
I would first, turn off the breaker to the indoor and outdoor units. Wait about 5 mins and turn the breakers back on. Doing this will reset the Control Board in the system. The system itself, is probably locked out.
This should get the system to come back on, However, you may have the problem come back and lock out the system again.
If this happens again, i would advise calling a Carrier dealer with Infinity systems to test it.

Hope this helps
Brian

Code #33 on Bryant 355MAV 90i Furnace

'Limit or flame rollout switch is open'. In my case, the flame rollout switch had tripped due to an overheating? I had to push the button between the wire leads to reset the switch. Then when I turned the power back on, the furnace started up like normal.

Why did the switch overheat and trip? My current theory is that there was a rubber grommet around a pipe near the switch that had slid down and was no longer sealing the furnace?

Carrier carries a 5 yr parts warranty.I'm not a big Carrier guy but the are not an inferior product from what I've seen.I'd contact another company that is a Carrier dealer for a second opinion.
