Clear the airways of fluff or if the fan has failed and it is under warranty, have it repaired for free.

SOURCE: my hp430 very often shut down itself says 'thermal shutdown' what is the solution?

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a can of compressed air to do this.

SOURCE: Ares next book 11.6, keeps popping up thermal shut down. Saw another answer on here recommending replacing with a more gaming friendly brand....any suggestions?

Asus makes some great gaming laptops especially higher end machines. I believe the series is called the Gamer Rock series.

SOURCE: Thermal shut down of next book ares 11A ... Happens after 10 minutes of use. How do I fix this?

Sounds like the cooling fan has failed if it shuts off that quickly. Most laptops will require a certain amount of disassembly to replace the cooling fan. Do you hear the fan when it is running before it shuts down?

Why does my next book table keeps saying thermal shutdown and keeps shutting down?

CPU is overheating. Take it back in if it's still under warranty. If not, make sure your fan is spinning when it gets warm and blow or vacuum any dust from inside the computer. Dust is a great insulator and will not let the fan do its job.

Unexpected shut down

Good chances this is a thermal shutdown. if this is the case, the computer is shutting off to protect itself from permanent damage. if your OS is old enough (Snow leopard, I think) then the system logs show what caused the shutdown. it will give a number. anything other than a 0 or a 1 are bad. if I recall correctly 1, 5, 13 are thermal shutdowns. Newer OS's don't seem to show these codes. and Apple does not publish their meanings.

My computer keeps shutting down after a few minutes. I have replaced the powersupply as well as the cpu fan. I am being told now that it is the system/motherboard. Is that an accurate answer?

When the CPUoverheats it goes into thermal shutdown and will not boot up again until theCPU has cooled down.
The heat sink may be clogged with dust, which causes the CPU to overheat byreducing air circulation through the heat sink. When you replaced the CPU fan, did you put new thermal heatsink paste on the CPU/heatsink? If not then the CPU can overhest. Your computer fanmay be faulty and not spinning freely, in this case replace the fan.
Check the fan and heat sink assembly and remove the dust, loosen the dust anduse a can of compressed air to clear away the dust.

Aspire 5535 heats up and shuts down when a game is initialized. Fans clean and appears functional. Applied fresh thermal glue to heat sinks. Problem persists.

increase ur ram Scanning computer to eliminate malwares, spywares and the viruses from your laptop.
2- Repairing and cleaning Windows registry.
These two tips are found to be very helpful to fix the laptop shutdown problem. Almost all the computer users surf internet which could result in viruses attacking your system. Some of these infections are really pesky and cause the machines to shutdown randomly.
The registry errors, however, are the internal errors and can become a cause of system crashes and freezes. The registry keys shall be in good health to keep a system perfect.
When I noticed my laptop keeps shutting down everytime, I tested the Intel Software Partner, RegInOut to fix the random shutdown problem with my laptop.

Portege 3500 shuts down

its difficult to identify the problem but there two things that might cause this...first, virus, your laptop may have been infected with a virus e.g. brontok....try restarting your laptop and boot on safemode. if it works there then a virus is causing the issue. you just need a scan and delete it with an anti-virus. second. you are having a problem with you fan/processor. this would be the time to go to the nearest PC repair shop.

Sony Vaio VGC-RB576 motherboard fried

if you have problems with outages and surges, then the only way to protect electrical goods is by purchasing a surge protection socket extension. But you should check that your power options in control panel are set that on the shutdown drop down list the pc lists shut down and does not say restart. Also go into bios F2 or Del on boot up and look and see if time and date are correct, if not then the cmos battery needs changing (Cr2032 disc chaped on motheroard) then in advanced cmos settings, then look for 'ACPI', make sure this is enabled so as to support windows shutdown settings, then save settings and exit for a reboot.
