SOURCE: I have an AO5 error
This indicates a power fault inside the actual heater. Have you tried unplugging the heater, letting it sit for a good 2 minutes, and replugging it back in? If the problem persists you will unfortunately need a repair. Please let me know if you need more information on this. You can also contact comfort zone, the manufacturer, located in Canada, at 780-420-6572.
Thanks so much for the question,

Unless you want a new house, stop using that heater immediately. There are severe internal electric problems with your heater. Since it's already 3 years old, I'm not sure it's worth trying to repair. With what you described, I'm surprised it didn't trip one of you circuit breakers.
Be safe, Don't continue to try to use this heater.

This sounds like a thermo coupling/ flame sensor. Check this and ensure that it is working properly. Also you can use an air compressor to blow out the infrared plates to ensure that it does not have dust build up in it. That can cause you problems as well.
