SD card not recognized

What happens when you tried to plug-in SD card to the computer?

Have you made any recent changes to the computer prior to the issue?

To make the SDHC be recognized by the computer, we need to ensure that the card reader works in Windows 7 first. Please check if the card reader is recognized properly by the computer and you have installed the driver for it.

Meanwhile, you can plug some other storage cards to the card reader and see how it works.

I would suggest you to refer the link below
A Secure Digital (SD) card may not be recognized on a Windows 7 based computer.

Uninstall all the Generic USB drivers and reinstall.

1. Open Device Manager.

2. In "Disk Drives" dropdown, uninstall the "Generic SD/MMC USB device" drive.

3. Restart computer.

4. Insert SDHC card.

Hope this helps.

My card reader on my desktop used to read memory cards just fine but isn't working now i tried uninstalling the driver, but don't even see it in the device manager

If your card reader is still working, try inserting it into another usb drive. Or try it on another computer. If you get the same result, you know the card reader has gone bad. If it works elsewhere, the driver you were using is bad.

Invest in a USB card reader to read the CF card from your camera (around $15). Your camera was made before picture transfer protocol (PTP) was develeoped, which is what allows the camera and scanner wizard to work. With the card reader, you put your card into it, and your computer 'sees' the card reader as another drive on the computer, like a flash drive.

SanDisk 4GB MicroHC card says card is dirty clean or format.

do you have a SD card reader for the computer? if not, getting one is a good idea. you can try putting the card into your computer to copy your pictures into your computer before formatting. And if you get the card reader from best buy. if this doesn't work you can always return it.
