My hp deskjet 2400 series printer keeps giving me a "refreshing" signal and won't print. I recently made this my default printer. Any suggestions?

Go to the HP site and download and save the driver for this model somewhere on your computer or if you have the disk for it. Open your printer in the Control Panel and delete the 2400 printer (only if you have the proper driver, I noticed this is a discontinued printer). Reboot the computer and it will detect the printer and should open a window to install the driver. Direct the setup to where you downloaded the driver or have a disk.

Try to download the printer driver on the web and run it to your PC so that you don't have to insert the disk.

Hi, Had my printer on old computer, when I went to put in on new computer the alarm light comes on and nothing else works.

Before connecting the printer to the new computer you will need to install the drivers using the printer disk.

If the printer disk is too old, or if you have misplaced the disk you will need to go to the printer manufacturer website, find support page, enter printer model, and download updated driver.

Connect printer only after installing driver.

If the printer is too old, it may not be compatible with Vista or newer operative systems.

I need a disc to install my Lexmark X5150 printer on my new computer. I have misplaced the old disc. Where can i get another one?

Lexmark does not distribute replacement install disk for all models.

Contact Lexmark here, to see if the disk for your printer is available.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file, double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

  • Unplug printer USB.
  • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
  • Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  • Follow driver installation wizard.
  • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

I have misplaced my registration disk to install the old printer to my new laptop what can i do in this case to still use printer

Hello thebdd

Unless it is a high end special purpose printer for which you must purchase a license to run, registration or restrictions on the computer or number of computers it can be installed on are not used.

In these cases, you can install the printer on as many computers as you like. 99% of the time, the "drivers" for the printer can be downloaded from the manufacturer's web site. You don't need the disk that came w/ the printer.

Please, tell us the following and we'll find your printer's drivers and installation instructions for you if you like.

(01) Manufacturer and model number of the printer.
(02) Manufacturer and model number of the computer you wish to connect the printer to.
(03) What operating system is installed on the computer you wish to connect the printer to. (e.g. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OSX, etc.)

Please, post back here w/ the answers to these questions, and we'll find what you need for you.

Thank you
BJ @:)
