Printer will not comnnect to the network wireless model brother dcp-585cw

People usually think connecting a printer via wireless is as simple as connecting a PC. However it is not the case. A printer need to communicate with every PC in the same internal network, however each PC will not communicate with other PCs in the same network to protect it private files and also the firewall settings. Next every PC is set to get a dynamic new IP address from the DHCP server everytime when it is powered up and plug into the network. But the printer need to get the same fixed IP address when it is powered up in the LAN.

So the Printer in a LAN need to set up a fixed IP address such that everytime when it is powered up, it has the same IP address that each PC could still get communicate with this Printer. Apart from setting this in the Printer, you also need to reserve this Fixed IP address with your Printer's MAC address in your DHCP server of the router. Otherwise it will get conflict with other PC or device that could have assigned the same fixed IP address. Then you have to setup your Firewall of your PC to let communication to this Printer. Else it will be blocked.

Lastly make sure you install the printer driver correctly in your PC with the same Win OS version such that it could detect the fixed IP address of your printer. Then it should work correctly.

Please let us know any problem you may have in future.

My printer won't print in color no matter how many times I change the settings. The head is clean, there are no alignment problems, and the ink cartridges are full and properly installed. What else do I...

Maybe you need to change the settings on your PC and not necessarily the printer...OR if you are changing the PC settings try changing the settings directly on the printer panel

Is there a setting that will let my printer print using black ink

That would be a setting on your printer--from the "settings" option on the printer (after you tell it to print), choose black and white.

Sharing printer

Make sure your desktop PC and the laptop are in the same Workgroup. You can view and change these settings if you right click My Computer and click Properties. In case your laptop joins a domain or workgroup at work, you might want to only change your desktop to match your laptop's settings.

The fax will not receive automatically even though it show's as being set to automatic

This issue can occur when the receive-to-PC setting was previously enabled for the PC connected to the printer, and the user is trying to enable this feature once again without disabling the previously enabled setting. This is because the receive-to-PC setting can be activated only from one computer.
Perform the following steps in the correct order to re-activate the receive-to-PC setting:
1. Turn the receive-to-PC setting off from the all-in-one printer control panel.
Here are the steps to be performed from the printer:
a. On the all-in-one control panel, press Menu .
b. Use the < or the > (left or right arrow) button to select Fax functions , and then press Enter .
c. After you selected the Stop Recv to PC setting (any faxes that remain in the all-in-one memory are printed).
2. Next, to turn the receive-to-PC setting on from the printer software, perform the following steps from the printer:
a. Open HP ToolboxFX .
b. Select the HP LaserJet 3050 / 3055 / 3390 / 3392 all-in-one.
c. Click Fax .
d. Click Fax Tasks .
e. Under Fax Receive Mode , select Receive faxes to this computer .
Performing the preceding steps should ensure that the user is able to select/activate the receive-to-PC setting.

Printer Defaults

try setting up your sizes etc on the required printer in" printers and faxes" first and then access your print system , when you then select the "print" function you will find the sizes etc that you have set up in printers and faxes are already set for you , unfortunately it will only save for a few prints and then will default ,however it defaults to the settings you have already set up in printers and faxes
