Have exactly the same problem with an Asko W6761. Fuse???

I have a 12505 also. It is a 220VAC unit. There are two fuses that are intended to be accessible from the rear. On our unit, these blow every few years and need to be replaced. The unit shows no signs of life when they go. The fuse holders tend to disintegrate from the heat, so I have had to replace these multiple times.

My Asko 12505 washer keeps heating the water and will not stop. It has even melted the drawer for soap and softener. What can I do?

Stop using it. You are risking a fire or electrocution. Since parts have been melted, I would suggest replacing the whole machine.

Power has gone off to the washing machine mid cycle, yet the dryer (which the washer is plugged into) does have power....please help

Welcome to FixYa.

Both the Asko built washer and dryer have internal fuses aside from the home circuit breakers for added safety.

Since the washer is typically plugged into the dryer, you'll want to check all the fuses and wires in both the washer as well as the dryer.

The 2 internal fuses for the Asko washer, (depending on the model, but generally in the same location) are located at the back next to the power cord...

To remove and check the fuses you`ll need a flat/slotted screwdriver and place it in the slot of the fuse holder and turn them left 1/4 turn and pull out. (the image may differ from your's as I alluded to based on the model number)

**The above is an image for removing the dryer fuse, but the same procedure applies**

Once removed this is what you should see...

I would also suggest removing the top of the washer to visually inspect the condition of the wires as a poor connection can cause the fuses to blow.

The replacement part is a 240v 15 amp slow blow fuse. part number will be as listed below and it is a complete kit available at ""

Hope that answers your question or better yet solves the problem altogether.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck. Please take a moment to rate the info provided and a short testimony is appreciated.

Asko W/D. Power to 220 wall outlet and washer

Hello paulehni, welcome to Fixya.

First things first, have you checked the 15amp fuses which are located at the back of your Asko dryer ?

**Turn off your breaker at the home service panel, it should be a 30amp switch**

That is where I`d start and focus your attention. They are at the back as I said located next to where the power cord exit`s the unit. Look for 2 small round slotted caps ( these are the fuse holders/hubs ) either black or gray in color.

With a flat screwdriver fitted in the slot of the fuse hub, turn it a half turn counter clockwise an it should drop out...though it may need to be pulled out if it`s stuck in the holder part.

Replace with a 15amp "slow blow" ( the only difference is the slow blow are filled with sand and aren`t transparent glass tubes but rather gray or white in color ) if the fuse is blown. You can find these fuses at most brick & mortar appliance part stores or on-line parts vendors such as,, etc. Part number is #8058140 and you should replace both. The number may substitue to an in-store number, it really depends on the vendor, just provide your model number and you should have no trouble.

Hope that is helpful. If so please rate the solution accordingly, if not let me know what you find or if you require further assitance.

Thank`s for visiting Fixya today and good luck.

Power light is not turning on. I have replaced the 2 15 amp fuses in the washer (not ASKO fuses) and I have confirmed that the beaker panel is working fine and the dryer which is linked to the washer is...

There is need to check if there is power getting at the fuses and power getting to timer control board. That is done reading volts with a multimeter.

For safety reasons I need to remind that all test with live power must be done by a trained repairman.

If there is no power at all and you already replaced the two fuses, then problem can be power cord, internal wiring harness, control assembly .

Asko 12505 washer no power replaced fuses still no power door will not open just nothing

Can you access where the power cord goes into it? If so measure voltage at any /all connections. Also look for anything obvious, wires broken, disconnected, burned etc. Hope it's an easy fix.
