I would start with adjusting the exhaust valve . When the gap is to large the compression release can not work properly and will sound and feel like a low battery. When the valves are adjusted correctly the compression release will hold the exhaust valve open a little and allow the starter to spin it over with less resistance and once started the rpms will increase and centrifugal force will retract the lobe and compression will be full on. I am attaching a photo of what this part looks like on the camshaft not that you should need to go in there but just to satisfy your curiosity.

My 2000 flstc after I ride for a while the starter has trouble engaging and just zings ,I just put a new battery in it and it will start after being on a battery assist for a day .

Have you tried pulling the starter and putting it back on? sometimes gears in a starter dont want to line up correctly and that is where the zing comes in, could have bad teeth on the starter or fly wheel as well that are causing this to occur... I have had the same problem with a chevy truck, the zinging and sometimes hangin up, I tightened a bolt on the flywheel and rehung the starter,it fired right up. check the wire connections also either loose or from corrosion on the starter connections as well as the battery... hope this helps.

Husqvarna yth 2348how to check and see if battery is charging and

there are one to two wires that come from under the fly wheel. thy are attached to our stator (charging sys) the flywheel has a magnet on it. know the wires my or my not go to a voltage regulator than a fuss and to ether the solenoid battery side, or to the battery. the easy way to check is on your battery with a meter. check battery fri st than start your engine to see if the amps come up should be around 12.9 to 14.6 volt. make sure your at full throttle. good luck, let me know.

I have a Woods Zero Turn Mow n Machine powered

Try taking the cover off to get to the fly wheel and use some fine sandpaper or emery cloth to clean off the magnets on the fly wheel and the two little prongs that set really close to the fly wheel.
My white wouldn't start right away and I did the above and now it starts great.

Let me know if that helps.

Lawn mower will not hold charge with new battery sometimes starts sometimes no l 120 john dear mower I change my alternator, but it was not turn the fly wheel. what I did wrong

Often mowers come with batteries which simply do not have the cranking amps to do the job. Have someone look at your mower and see if your attery has the sufficient cranking amps.

Mower will not start

Take the spark plug out and pour a little bit of oil in the cylinder and crank it over without the spark plug in. Make sure ground wire is clean on both ends.
