First clean floor down to plywood. Then buy mastic, notched trowel and tile spacers from hardware store. Lay out tile in the pattern you want by cutting them with a tile saw you rented. take out dry laid tile and mastic a small area and install til making sure you press the tile into mastic. Where does the rubber membrane go when tiling a bathroom floor

tiles on wooden floors will always move and crack the grout/tiling cement
therefore the rubber membrane goes down first with out nails and then everything is laid on top
that way when the wooden floor moves , there is a water proof membrane to prevent the water from rotting the wood over time

My favorite framed painting is stuck to the glass and will not come up without leaving parts of the painting behind on the glass

Take the glass its stuck to into the bathroom next time you bath or just leave it in there and turn your shower or bath on full hot get the room really steamy and set it as close as possible to the source of steam. Leave it in for a while it will loosen up.I've done this 4X.

How to install claw foot bath to tiled floor

Hi giacomjo,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question is: You have a claw foot bath to install in a tiled bathroom. How do you fix the bath to the floor so it is secure and doesn't move?

A little clear silicone caulk under each claw is my favorite method. Locate the tub in it"s final position. Set up the drain and water connections so that you can complete them without moving the tub. Lift each end in turn just a bit and aply some caulk, you may need a helper. Wipe off the excess. Then hook up.
