Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a weatherking model 80PJ07EBR01 . When the heater comes on the gas fires up for just a couple of seconds and then turns back off. Any suggestions? Could it be the thermocouple?

If the pilot light is staying lite (if it has a pilot light) and if the burner is lighting and then going out, it could be the thermocouple. that is a relative cheap part and very easy to install. Make sure you have the gas turned on and the lines are not bent. BE SURE TO TURN THE GAS OFF AND THE POWER SOURCE OFF BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY REPAIR.

SOURCE: Wall Heater

If you have already changed out the thermocouple and the pilot goes out when the burner goes out, it leads to reason that the gas valve has a weak magnet or that the pilot is dirty. The cheapest thing would be to remove the pilot assembly and clean out the orifice. If it still drops out, you will need to replace the gas valve.

SOURCE: I have a weatherking gas furnace that will not blow

Sounds like a bad blower relay. Check the voltage from the board or relay going to the blower for 110 volts. Replace the relay or board if no voltage.

SOURCE: pilot light

Hi the thermocouple is a long copper wire that goes back to the gas valve from the pilot .

i would clean the flame senser first , then check the pressure switch jump this out , then check the fan control or snap disc jump this out see if it runs if you need A THERMOCOUPLE then honeywell universal will do

Pool heater comes on and gas enters unit for about 5 seconds and then the gas shuts off. natural gas

This could be the flame sensor. If you can look into the firing chamber there should be a steel rod about 5" long that dangles into the gas fire jets. Turn off the unit. If you take the fire sensor out and gently rub it with steel wool and replace it, it may start working again. If it does, great, but order a new fire sensor and replace the old one when it comes in. They are very cheap.

Goodman gmt070-4a wont heat, like the pilot light is out or something

turn gas supply on....turn gas valve to down and hold to allow gas to come through pilot tubing.....light the pilot right by the thermal couple, once lit hold valve down for about 60-90 secs...then release ur hand on the gas valve and turn the valve to on position............make sure the bloody tstat is turned off before doin anything other wise burners will fire up soon as you turn valve to on position

LP wall heater blower motor doesn't turn on

Does the heater burner come on? If the burner comes on then the problem is not in the t-stat. What is the model# & serial # and brand of heater. If you turn off power to unit and turn t-stat off, then turn unit back on then go to t-stat turn it up to temp. setting you want. Then you should be able to see heater gas valve opened and fired. If it has fired up then it will run for a couple of minutes before the fan will run. If you have anymore ? about the heater operation let me know.

Weatherking control board

the fan comes on only after the burner fires. so no stat voltage is expected. it is not powering the blower, the elec board is. only after burner lights will fan be energized due to heat build up. usually on older weatherking there is a heat sensor on the bulhead above the burners. it is stuck sounds like to me. try a sharp rap on the right side about four feet up the side and a foot back . if fan stops you know the switch was stuck . probably needs a new fan switch.
