My Rheem Criterion II gas furnace makes metal slapping noise when the blower comes on. It is not the blower or the motor.

Is there noise when the inducer motor comes on? The small motor that comes on first. It sucks the co out of the combustion chamber. It comes on first. Then the burner lights then the blower comes on. And the noise continues while it's running and doesn't stop till the blower stops? Is that correct? But it's not the blower wheel? Could it be out of balance and hitting the blower shroud?

Model sf35f furnace wont quit heating after reaching thermostat setting

Sounds like the heat anticipator in your thermostat is either bad or out of adjustment. Turn of the furnace power. Remove the thermostat wires from the thermostat. Turn the power back on. Connect the white and red wires together. The furnace should start up. Let it run a couple of minutes. Then disconnect the wires. The burners should shut off immediately. The blower will continue to run for 60 to 360 seconds then shut off. If this happens replace your thermostat. If the burners continue to burn, then your problem is either the furnace or the thermostat wires.

Indesit oven keeps heating

Tappan gas range, TGF334BCWB. I can NOT stop the broiler burner from lighting. I have unplugged the 110 power and I light top burner with a striker. However when stove is plugged in to the power the broiler burner lights and continues to burn. The oven knob is turned OFF. The only way to stop the broiler is to unplug the power.

Why does my gas dryer not ignite to create a flame?

check the thermal fuse and cycling switch on the blower housing,if they both have continuity then check the high limit thermostat for continuity on the burner tube housing and then the flame sensor eye on this tube also and also wipe off its window that faces the ignitor so it can see the flame after ignition,if all this checks good then check the ignitor inside the burner tube as these can burn out

My heat will not cycle on the blower motor continues to run even if I turn my thermostat off. I have pulled the disconnect out twice and I still can't get the blower to turn off .Gas burner won't ignite....

One thing to try is to remove door from blower compartment and see if that shut the blower off, There should be a switch on the edge of the furnace frame that is turned off when the door is removed. Also look in the burner compartment and see if you can locate a small silver fuseible link close to burners. If your furnace has this then use ohm meter to check across it and if it reads open then temporarly jumper it . Put blower door back on and see if this stops the fan running. Not all furnaces use this link but it one easy thing to check. Hope this helps. Thanks

Ruud Silhouette II Gas Furnace, purges, lights burners and burns until the blower starts and then burner stops and does not really blow very warm air. Once blower shuts off, it starts the process all over...

Flame sensor needs to be cleaned. turn off the furnace power switch or breaker. pull the flame sensor located in the burner runner section of the furnace. It will be easy to locate because it has 1 wire running to it. pull the screw being very careful not to harm anything else. get the sensor out. inspect it for cleanliness. clean the sensor with light grade sand paper gently. re-install the sensor plug the wire back on. restart your furnace and this should fix the problem.

When furnace runs blower won't run.as soon as furnace stops blower runs. They never both run.

Sounds like fan limit switch/fan timer

This will cause the main burner to run untill the over tempreture switch is tripped therefore shuting gas supply and running fan on high till over heat condition is resolved then it will restart burner and repeat
continuing to run heater like this will cause heat exchanger split.

The power vent blower on my hot water tank will not shut off.

If the blower continues after the end of the burn cycle it is the cool the heater down. Over running would indicate a defective end cycle temp relay.

Good Luck, Phil
