My Panasonic Over the range microwave Model NN-H264SF front touch pad don't get any beep plus i cannot put any number so microwave don't work. If range get over heat microwave exhaust fan get activated...

it needs to be repaired others have had the same problem.
here's one review...
liked this product very much, until it died after a little under 1.5 years. I brought it to a repair center recommended by Panasonic. They quoted me a parts-and-labor price of around $125 to fix the thing. The repair included a new membrane pad (the buttons on the front), new fuse, and new fuse holder.

The repair center told me they've been instructed by Panasonic to replace all old fuse holders with newer, better ones. Apparently, the original fuse holder was somewhat defective, causing the fuse to burn out. I don't know if this bears any relation as to why a relatively new membrane pad might have gone bad, but it's certainly annoying for a device costing several hundred dollars.

Oven out -no responce

Hello there and welcomne to fixya
normally on these microwave ovens when it is dead and doesent do any thing 2 possiable problems exist
the first and the easiest is the fuse that is on the contrlol board has blown this is the most common
and the next one is the power inverter which gives the microwave power to every thing this is the most uncommon of the two to fail
so what i would do is first remove the screws holding on the outer case ***** after unplugging it of course *****
then the case should slide back towards the rear of the unit about 1/4 to 1/2 inch then it should be able to be lifted from the back and removed
Now looking at the microwave from the front to the rear you should see on the right side a electronic board and it should have a glass fuse about 1/2 inch long simply remove it and get a new one
they can be bought at radio shack or a reliable appliance parts store now put in the new fuse and plug it in and see if it now has power if so unplug it and replace the outer cover that you took off earlier
However if this does not resolve the problem then you have a bigger issue and if you do not feel comfortable with trying to make the repairs yourself on this part i highly suggest taking it to a appliance repair center
Somethng to think about here though
i do not know how much you have invested in this microwave so be advised that a repair done by a service center may cost a lot more than the appliance is worth so please think about that
But if you think that you could do the repairs by your self please post me back and i will give you the procedures for testing the parts to determine which part has failed and help you remove and procure a new part and install it ok?
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Mike

Many of the newer microwaves will have working control panels but not heat food due
to a blown fuse. It requires opening the microwave and checking/ replacing this
automotive style fuse (It has a ceramic center instead of a clear center). Make sure to
unplug before servicing and be aware the capacitors may still be highly charged.
Replace only with the same type and rating of fuse (it is stamped on the metal ends)
They are available for a couple of dollars at any appliance parts store.

I was heating up some left over for 1 min. and before completion the microwave just stopped. I have tried all of the usual stuff to get it going again. It is not the electrical socket nor the fuse box...

It could be as simple as a blown fuse inside the unit. They are usually ceramic type fuse not glass, so you need a meter to check it or you can try to replace it and see if it fixes it. Please use only a fuse of the same type and amps! The unit may blow the new fuse, which would indicate a short inside... you''d need to call a repairman. Lastly check your warranty dates, if under a year you may have some coverage. Hope that helps.

Turned it on and three minutes later it turned off. Not working at all

The first thing I suggest is to check if  you have a 'Ground Fault Interrupter' (GFI) protecting that circuit; they will sometimes trip because they have misinterpreted a current condition that some appliances may do randomly. These look a little different than the standard outlet and have two buttons, one test and the other reset. Some have small indicators that light if the circuit has been disabled.    There is normally only one in a kitchen or bathroom.   If you don't find this, plug in another appliance briefly (a nightlight will do) to se if there is voltage at the outlet used for the micowave.
If the outlet is dead, it's time to locate the main breaker or fuse box and check to see if there are any tripped or blown.
If you don't find any external problem then it is time to pull the AC plug and remove the back panel. This normally won't require more than the removal a 5  or 6 screws.
Check the area around where the AC line comes into the cabinet for a fuseholder which are often easy to find.  Typically, these appliances use a standard US style fuse except that the body may be white (ceramic) instead of glass. Keep fingers away from everything except the fuse as there are parts that can retain a nasty charge for hours.
If you have a multimeter, you can check the fuse for continuity; if you don't, then you will need to find a replacement fuse of the same rating which will be in the range of 10 to 20 amperes and this is stamped into the metal end caps. Don't replace any ceramic-body fuse with glass since a fuse can produce a high gas pressure when it blows and glass will often shatter.
Any appliance service center will have this type of fuse in stock and it shouldn't cost more than a buck even when business is slow. Buy two, not just a single one.
If you replace the fuse and if fails again, you will have to let a tech do some magic and locate the cause of the overcurrent that is blowing the fuse.
There are a number of parts that can fail that don't cost a fortune but if you bring it in, or have it serviced at home, ask for the type of part that has failed if the cost exceeds $10 and post back here so I or another tech can tell you if it is a fair price.
Good luck-

If fuse, door switches, and capacitor are good, the next potential problem area is the control board (behind the keypad). Look for evidence of burn markings on the board and back of keypad panel; you may need to unscrew it to pull it out and look. I discovered with the same issues you have posted my LG microwave had a burnt board. Replacement is around a hundred dollars so I will just go buy anorther microwave (not LG!).

Can I replace a ceramic fuse in a Panasonic Microwave oven with a glass one.

For continued protection against flames, a ceramic fuse is specified.

You should be able to get white or gray ceramic fuses from local appliance parts stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, Wal-Mart, etc. Or I can send you one for $5.00 postpaid.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Emerson Microwave MW8115SS

I bought my emerson microwave 3 years ago model# mw8115ss from walmart and have had all the problems that everyone has talked about and I thought about throwing it away until I thought about one small detail, the FUSE. China uses junky glass fuses that burst instantly with a slight power outage, door slamming to hard, moving it around, and of course constant use like myself always heating up water for bottles. I took the back of the microwave off and walla!!! a blown fuse, but wait!!! dont buy another glass fuse!!! go to your local home depot and get the ceramic fuse for microwave ovens!!! they are $2.83 at my local home depot. I replaced the junky glass fuse with the ceramic one and it has worked perfectly for six months now.

DONT let someone tell you that you cant replace a glass fuse with a ceramic one because they are full of boloney. My microwave did all kinds of things, it wouldnt turn sometimes, it would come on by itself, it would beep for no reason, turn but not heat up, you name it I had the problem. When a fuse starts to go out it can make your appliances do some strange things, check the fuse and replace it with a CERAMIC one and I promise it should eliminate your problem.
