Most DC07 models (but not all) have two belts inside the clutch assembly. You can't see the clutch belt that goes from the motor shaft to the clutch unless you remove the clutch cover assembly. The clutch belt could be stretched and is slipping on the motor shaft. You must pull the brush roll from the vacuum to access the clutch assembly. If the bristles are worn, frayed or short replace the brush roll. If they are ok be sure to pull the end caps off the brush roll and clean any hair or debris from under them and around the brush roll shaft. You can install a new clutch belt in the clutch assembly or install a new clutch. If you install a new clutch I recommend getting the tool designed to allow you to stretch the brush roll belt and hold it in place while you put the brush roll back in, if you don't install the new clutch you may be able to get the brush roll back in without the tool because your belt has lost much of its elasticity.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

The beater bar will not turn

Hello rebh. Generally when the vacuum beater bar will not turn it is because the belt that turns this beater bar has broken.

That said, most of the dyson's require you to buy a beater bar assembly which includes the belt. Any vacuum cleaner repair shop will have this part. OR go to this link http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/brands-products/Dyson-Inc-Parts/Vacuum-Parts

My beater bar on my Dyson just quit going round.

Change the belt because it sounds like the belt has snapped if its not turning around. Easy to do if you flip the machine over with the beater bar looking upwards. Locate the three/two screw heads and undo with a coin. When the roller section is revealed by taking off the floor head you should replace the belt with a new one and be careful putting the beater bar in the right way on both ends. The belt will be tight brand new so expect some tension in it.
If this works for you please rate Fixya! Thanks.

Revolving brush stopped after I got a sock snagged in it.

If the Dyson model has a brush bar control roller at the left hand side of the top hood then it won't be able to be repaired unless its by a Dyson call out or someone who repairs Dyson models with brush control protection.
If the model doesn't have a brush control dial then you will have to change the drive belt:
