Not normally, but depends on the carrier. Having 5 gigs of data is a luxury for that price! I have 3 gigs and costs me $75 a month. When you upgrade the phone there is usually a new special Data package for smartphones that they want to sell you. Your existing contract ALWAYS ends. If your 2 or 3 year contract is not finished, they will make you buy your way out of it, and set up a new contract. They will also tell you that you can't go back to the contract you had before.
If you go to your carriers website there is often a Chat facility you can use. My carrier also uses Facebook Messenger which is pretty neat. I renegotiated my contract using Messenger over a 3 minute conversation whilst I was having a beer!

With such things there is a cancellation period. It is often ONE FULL billing period. It your subscription is from say 2nd of the month of May and you cancelled it on the 5th May, you would have to pay all of May, and then all of June (one full period) and your sub would end 1st July.
Not a 'simple billing activity', you are terminating the contract you signed. It will be in the small print somewhere when you signed up that nobody ever reads :>)

All cell carriers that I've ever heard of are happy to keep you under contract - you just have to contact them to let them know at the end of the contract - if yours is not the type that automatically converts you to a "month to month" customer (no contract). This is not necessarily a bad thing! In most cases, you can keep using the device & service under the terms of your old contract. Things (cost, amount of talk / text / data) generally change only when you sign up as per the terms of a *new* agreement. This also when you are offered a subsidized price for a new device. If you're happy with your current device and would rather not have to go out of pocket at all to buy another - or if the amount of talk / text / data is is better under your existing plan - why sign up again? Continue as a month to month customer and you're free to sign a contract with them (or anyone else for that matter) at a time that YOU want whether due to lost or stolen device, better terms in a new contract being offered, etc..
Many carriers answer calls made from the cell phone that are placed to *611 (Star 6 1 1) and they should be able to help you navigate your current contract and new one - if needed. Otherwise, check your carrier's invoice, refill minutes card or website for contact telephone numbers or locations to learn about your contract.
Parts are from the manufacture only unless you can find a used board from a scrap set. A used board may have a lower reliability than a new one, and there will be no warranty. After changing the board, there will probably be some calibration required to match the new board.
Almost all the repairs on modern TV's are done with board swapping. This is because of the complexity of the design of the circuitry, and the way that they are assembled. These boards are using multi layer assembly, with embeded component technology with very high density surface mount technology. To troubleshoot these boards and then change parts would require very extensive instrumentation and tools that would not be feasible for any service centre.
I suggest you give the set only to an authorised service rep to have it serviced properly.
As for the DLP sets, from the statistics that I have been seeing, they are general lower in reliablity than the Plasma or LCD sets.
The DLP sets also do not produce as nice a picture because they are using projection technology rather than direct view technology. If you go in to any of the TV stores and compare them to the Plasma or LCD sets you can see the difference right away.
