I have a new mac computer. I have a Palm IIIc handheld with a lot of data in it I'd like to transfer to my new computer. Do I need to use a disc to enter the Palm program in my computer first? If so, where do I get such a disc? Or am I out of luck?

Before connecting the Palm to your Mac you will have to install the Palm Desktop software for Mac OS.

The Palm Desktop software can be downloaded from Palm website online.

Click on the link below and scroll down the page to find the versions of Palm Desktop for Mac Os, ensure you install the right version.

Install the software with Palm unplugged from Mac.

Can I sync Palm OS 4.1 from one PALM IIIC to another Palm IIIC with 3.5.2 installed

The only suggestion I have is to download the trial version of VMWare Fusion and installing Mac OS 10.6 or earlier as OSX 10.7 and higher has Rosetta removed. Rosetta allows your Intel Mac to emulate PPC and run PPC programs

My palm IIIc does not charge

Usually when the llc or any palm for that matter quits charging you need the battery replaced,. I wouldn't try it myself. I did this once and then the on off button would not work correctly. Protect your investment and have an authorized dealer do it for you.
Best wishes.

I had a TREO650 and have replaced it with a Treo700wx. I want to have the Palm Desktop information on my new phone.

With this method of upgrading your handheld, you'll transfer all PIM¹ data from your existing user name to your new handheld with the same user name. You will also transfer all third-party applications to your new handheld. Caution: Some third-party applications may not be compatible with your new handheld. Your handheld will crash, freeze or display an error when these third-party applications conflict with your new handheld. If you notice performance issues or problems after transferring third-party software to your handheld, follow our steps for diagnosing third-party software issues.
  1. You must install the version of Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager included on the CD-ROM with your new handheld, even if you already have an earlier installation on your computer, and even if you will synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. This ensures that the desktop components of any new handheld features are added.
  2. Put the new handheld's CD-ROM² in the CD-ROM drive.

  3. Follow the installation instructions that appear.
  4. When prompted, select the existing username of your old handheld.
  5. During installation, you will be asked to perform a HotSync operation. Use the same existing username as above.
  6. Once installation is complete, your PIM¹ data and third-party applications will be transferred to your new handheld. Your new handheld will have the same name as your old handheld.
  7. To avoid confusion, change the name on your old handheld once you're sure that you have all your data transferred to your satisfaction. If you're going to sell or give it away, you may wish to perform a hard reset to erase all your personal data.
  8. With this method, you have a greater likelihood of encountering third-party application incompatibilities. If you notice performance issues or problems after transferring third-party software to your handheld, follow our steps for diagnosing third-party software issues.

Cannot SYNC Outlook Calendar and Contacts

Probably one of these issues - your data is there but you are looking in the wrong place. I am trying to sync my outlook calendar and contacts via Hotsync on a Palm IIIc. It gives me the status of OK, but nothing shows up on the Palm. I have set the custom on Hotsync to desktop overwrites handheld, but still will not work. Thanks.
