If you run the shaver with the shaving head off and it still makes the noise, it is probably the oscillator in the motor that is broken. If this is the case, you can purchase this component from shaveroutlet.com

SOURCE: Braun Series 7 760cc dead after 2 months

Had this same problem with mine. One month after warranty was done with. I ended up opening the thing up and pulled the monster battery out of its socket and put it back in. Worked fine after that. One week and still strong. Another thing I did was to carefully bend up the flat pieces of copper around the battery to make sure they were still getting a good contact with the pins on the cover. Hope this works for you....

  1. The black rubber/plastic cover on the back will pop off if carefully pried apart from the gray plastic. Start around the middle of the razor body.
  2. Once the black piece is removed you will see four screws holding on a plastic cover. These can be removed with a sharp flat head screwdriver.
  3. The plastic cover can then be pried from the razor body. Be very careful though as there is a rubber seal around this to keep water out. I broke mine.
  4. Inside you will see a somewhat large red battery with prongs on either end. Pop it out of its location and wait a couple of seconds. Press it back into position and you should hear a click for both ends.
  5. After this, I took all of the flat copper pieces and gently bent them towards myself (without making them touch of course... this could cause a short and potentially cause the battery to explode).
  6. Replace everything and see how it works... Hopes this fixed it for you and saved you $100-200. Have a good day!
Also... I am not responsible for any damages that may occur.

Reset light has appeared. What action is required ?

There is no Reset Light as far as I know and the manual seems to indicate the same. I have a series 5. The green light shines when you are using it. The red light flashes when the power in the battery is less than 20%. Put it on to charge and the light will flash green until it is fully charged and then the light will be solid green.

All of the manuals are here from Braun

I have had a Braun 8985 electric shaver for 4 years now. I have recently replaced the cutter block and foil but I am still having a problem with the shaver. It is not unusual for me to have to make 3 or...

The symptoms you describe indicate that the 'drive unit' is the problem. This part includes the swivel frame that the foils and cutters fit onto as well as the motor. Sometimes a piece of the plastic oscillator inside will break. The vibration causes the loud noise and it can not oscillate properly because of the break.
You will find the part needed at shaveroutlet.com. See link below for this part and scroll down the screen for helpful installation video

During shaving the shaver makes a loud grating noise. It works fine otherwise. Even during the cleaning cycle, there is a bit more of that noise. Could it need a new battery?

Most likely, the noise is caused by vibration of a broken piece of plastic in the swivel fframe. If this is the case, the part required to fix it for model 8585 can be found at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

BRAUN SHAVER MOD 7570, SHAVER NO LONGER SHAVES WELL, SHAVER MAKES A LOUD NOISE IT IS SAID I NEED A NEW MOTOR , I CAN'T FIND OUT HOW TO REPLACE IT, HOPE YOU CAN HELP.

You will find the replacement at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-7000-series-syncro-motor-drive-unit-p-110.html

To open the shaver body, you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out.
