Cannot remove Cabrio basket from tub.

Once the spanner nut is removed, which is underneath the wash plate, the tub is designed to lift off the drive shaft, this is often not the case at the the metals often corrode, and fuse together causing non removal. In some cases damage to various parts has to occur in order to get things apart. Pleazer Appliance...

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer won't aggitate

My Whirlpool WTW6600 had the same problem. The tub no longer floated up and down on the center shaft, so it only spun, not agitated. You must remove the tub (with some effort) and lightly sand / clean the center shaft. Lube it lightly with wheel bearing grease so that after it is reassembled, you can pull the tub upward and feel about 1/2" movement. This will enable the proper gear assembly to engage. It can spin when it rests at the bottom of its travel, but once you fill the tub, it floats, moving upward, and engaging the agitation gear. Good Luck!

How to take a whirlpool clothes washer agitator out of the washer to be replace

  • Pull the liquid softener dispenser off the top of the agitator. Pull the clear plastic cap out of the center of the agitator. Use a ratchet and socket set to remove the hex head bolt from the center of the agitator. Lift the top half of the agitator out of the washer. Pull the bottom half of the agitator straight up to remove it from the drive motor shaft, and remove the bottom half of the agitator from the Cabrio washer.

My cabrio washer sounds like it has coins under the basket when it goes through the spin cycle. how do i get them out?

Assuming that this is a Whirlpool Cabrio, see the following Whirlpool Service manual. It has sections on how to pull the agitators, tub etc.

How do I reassemble Kenmore model 110.29842991 Need a parts manue

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

    http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=110.29842991

See the Agitator and Tub section.

Basically lower the main agitator onto the transmission drive shaft. (Be sure that the two pronged "washer" and clip are on the shaft).

    2. Screw the double threaded bolt (with a rubber washer on the bottom) into the agitator shaft

    3. Carefully lower the top agitator onto the lower one and screw the 1/2" (probably plastic) bolt onto the double threaded bolt.

    4. Put the cap on

    5. Put the fabric softener unit on and push down on the locking ring.
