Check the door gasket for seal by closing the door on a dollar bill or some other stiff thin paper. As you slide it around the door it should have resistance.

In the freezer compartment, there is frost in the back. It's a side by side 19.9 without a water dispenser. The refrigerator part is not as cold as it should be but it is cold.

although most frost free freezers will hardly ever frost up,some will,(it depends on overall humidity)by frost free the makers say "food is frost free"but the inside is shinny plastic and all shinny surfaces will collect condensation and frost up.(look under the salad crisper, condensation?)it is worthwhile, about once a year, doing a complete defrost(NO sharp objects)and vacuum out all the vents/clean out any drain holes.
saves you a fortune in power.......

Nine y/o GE side by side not getting cold enough

More likely a defrost heater. Look inside the freezer at the back wall. Any frost there? If so, turn off refrig., unload freezer, take back panel off inside freezer, and use a hair dryer to melt off the frost. Replace the defrost heater located at the bottom of the frosted coils. (New heater may appear different than original, but instructions are included) If you don't have the defrost heater on hand, just manually defrosting the coils and re-starting the refrig will get is cooling again for at least a week before problem will re-occur. (this give you enough time to get the replacement part)

Frigidare Model No. FFU1464DW2 is leaking water on ground floor, can you tell me where to find the drain pan and what is causing this? Many thanks.

Most likely it is leaking because the drain in the back of the freezer is clogged. The most likely source of excessive water drainage is a bad door seal which causes frost to build up.

I need to know the cubic feet of my upright frost free frigidare freezer Model # MFU17F36W6

get a measureing tape measure inside dimensions multiply them together eg: a freezer with an inside dimension of 2' X 2' X 3' would equal 12 cubic feet if want an exact value measure in inches 24" X 24" X 36" = 20736 and divide by 1728 will give you cubic feet cool eh.. where did I get the 1728? (12 X 12 X 12) =1728 converts cubic inches to cubic feet Good Luck let me know when you pour that cement pad for under your shed I tell you how many yards to order

hi is this the frost free version ??? if it is which i think it is it could be a fault with temp module{frost free have electronic modules to control the system rather than a old fashioned bog standard thermostat inside the fridge} the fans should be controlled by the module in case of frost free models it could be the module which is playing up

Refrigerator is barley cold, still makes ice, condensation inside of frostless freezer

Hi: The fact that it still makes ice tells me the freezer is a zero degrees. When you said condensation in the freezer did you mean frost? If your defrost heater fails it will cause the frost free freezer to build up frost. The frost will build up and block the vent that supplies the cold air to the fresh food. The defrost heater is behind the metal wall at the back of the freezer, at the very bottom. A glass tube with a metal coil in it. The coil can break and stop the defrosting. Replace that. Use a hair dryer to melt the frost from behind the panel. All of it top to bottom. You need to remove all the frost to free up the airways. I hope this helps, Jeff

I have a zanussi fridge freezer combination, it is a frost free model, Im developing lots of frost in the freezer which never used to happen and the fridge is not getting cold, some condensation does...

Hello Mr Barnard

Welcome to fixya

You said, You have a zanussi fridge freezer combination, it is a frost free model, And you're developing lots of frost in the freezer which never used to happen and the fridge is not getting cold, some condensation does appear inside the fridge, it is 2years old.

Frost could mean a few things.
Is the freezer cold but the fridge not?
If so the freezer may be so full that the articles are covering the air vents in the back that share the cold air with the fridge.
I've have seen the freezers packed to the hilt!

More things to check.
Is the condenser in the back or under the front of the fridge. If it is under the front of the fridge you must remove the plastic grill`(The condenser is the thin black metal tubing that runs back and forth to make up your condenser). This needs to be free of dust and have air passing over and through it!
they sell refrigerator brushes for this at the hardware store.
I have had customers that never ran the brush under there ever and had 1 to 2 inches of dust and lint
under there between the tubes. After a few hours it was cool the next day it was cold!

The freon level pressure should be checked in case you have a leak.
The thermostat may be bad.

Let me know what works for you.
