You'll have to go into the modem/router software and change the password and SSID settings. Since you didn't say what model or brand you have, you'll have to google the set up.
Typically the connect to the device, open a browser window and type 192.168.1.1. in the address bar. (could be another number depending on what you have. like .1.2 or .2.1) It should bring you to a login screen where it needs a user ID and Password... possibly <none> and admin. Some units have ID and PSWD on a sticker on the bottom. Other units have a CD with the set up on it.
By not knowing what you have I can only give a partial answer. Contact your ISP (internet service provider) the guy you pay for internet, for help.

I changed my internet modem and am not using the router I had been using. I have attempted to access Netflix and get error unable to connect to the internet.

Judit,

We need ore information. Does the new modem you are now using have a built in "router"? If not, you had better reinstall your old router as when you just use a plain old modem from either cable or dsl your computer will be visible to the "low life hackers" out in the internet and it will be so easy to gain access to your computer and files it will and should scare you! Are you now using a router with your new modem? IF NOT, reinstall your old router with your new modem! The reason your not getting Netflix could be that the port settings on your old router will not be the same as the modem and if your new modem does have a built in router, you will need to "reconfigure" your Netflix with the new modem/router. The ports that your old router allowed access to Netflix will not be the same in the new router. You need to set this up yourself. Good luck.

What is the error code 51030 and the SSID

Error code 51030 is : Unable to connect to your wireless network.
The SSID is the name of your wifi network. You will need a wireless router if you do not have have one. If you do you will have to set it up to broadcast your internet and set up security with a pass key or password. Here is a link for more info. • Hook up your modem to what ever ISP you use. DSL modem > phone cable, broadband modem > coax cable.
  • Plug an Ethernet cable from the modem's Ethernet port to the WAN/Uplink port on the router.
  • There usally is a label with the default SSID (wireless name) on a sticker and potentially a password.
  • Connect to this SSID on your laptop or tablet enter the password if applicable and your done.

How do i find my network key?

If your "modem" is a "combination" device, namely a modem and a wireless router, then you need to connect to it, to define:
* SSID -- the "name" for your wireless network
* encryption-level -- use 'WPA', not 'WEP'
* password for your network.

Then, on your wireless device (iPod Touch? laptop?) use the SSID/password to connect.

If your modem is "just" a modem, then you need a separate wireless-router, which must be configured, as above.

What is wpa pass phrase while setting wireless printer

WPA with a Pre-Shared Key (PSK), also known as personal. PSK is entered as a pass phrase between 8 to 63 alphanumeric characters in the ASCII format at both ends of the wireless connection. Although PSK accepts a minimum of eight characters, for proper security, it is a good idea to use ample length and should not use a commonly known phrase. This phrase is used to generate session keys that are unique for each wireless client.

WPA pass phrase is a password for the wireless network to make it secured. You can obtain the WPA pass phrase when you access your router. Check the manual of your router for the address, username and password of your router. Go to wireless settings, you will see ther the SSID or Network Name, Network Key or the Pass Phrase and Authentication (WPA/WPA2/WEP). You can personalize the SSID,Network Key and Authentication. Remeber that for you to connect wirelessly the Authentication and Network Key on the router should match the Network Key and Authentication of the Printer or Computer.

Can not connect with my home computer.Router and modem working, just won,t connect

Configure the Router 1. Step 1
Open your web browser, type " http://192.168.1.1/ " into the address bar and hit "Enter."
2. Step 2
Use "Admin" as the username in the pop-up box and leave the password blank.
3. Step 3
Connect to the Internet and click on "Internet Setup."
4. Step 4
Select your connection type from the drop-down menu. Choose "DHCP" for cable modems or "PPPoE" for most DSL modems. If you are unsure of these options, check with your ISP.
5. Step 5
Set a service set identifier (SSID) to identify the router and change the password.
6. Step 6
Encrypt your wireless connection using a Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP) key. Under the "Wireless Security" option, enter a passphrase and click "Generate." This will generate a password which will need to be used by any client connecting to your router.

I want to put a password on the wireless connection

Access your router login page by entering 192.168.1.1 on the URL address bar, go to security and find PSPK code, that is a pre shared pass key, enter the password there and restart, now your wireless connection requires the password. Hope this will solve the problem

I have BSNL broadband with Siemens SL_2 141 modem provided by BSNL. I want to connect it wireless with my desktop. I also have a Netgear WG111 v3 USB adapter. Please suggest how to install the wireless...

First get IP of Siemens SL_2 141, start- run -cmd- ipconfig /all
Note down Default Gateway IP address ( Generally 192.168.1.1)
Type it in Internet Explorer address bar and hit enter
put username admin, pass admin
Click Wirelles then in Basic setup, Enable Wireless, Enter SSID as BSNL, transmission mode 802.11g, then remaining option as auto, do not keep security now let it be disabled, click apply or save and rebot the router.
Install Netgear software in ur desktop let search for ssid BSNL and connect automatically. Once connection gets establish then set security WEP-PSK and put password also in Netgear u have to mention same password whil connecting.

Thanks
