I have a reznor gas unit heater gravity vent Burners new. Burning back into burner only one dose it Pressure good

Check the air shutter adjustment on the burner, it may be too open or too closed, which could be causing your problem. If it does not have an air shutter, the manifold may just be too close or far away from the burner. Make sure it is free of cobwebs too.

I have a Big Maxx heater and it won't stop blowing and won't heat. The fan just keeps running! Anyone know what could be wrong?

Your pressure switch may not be activating (ie closing and making contacts) This means you could have a blocked flue, clogged pressure switch tube or a bad pressure switch. The pressure switch is a safety feature to ensure your exhaust is not blocked and operating correctly. Find owners manual. Look at trouble shooting section. Open cabinet and look for error code light. If blinking 3 times, try "jumping" the pressure switch. To jump pressure switch you need to clear code be turning off power. When the unit/thermostat calls for heat the power vent fan starts first, this is when you need to jump the pressure switch. You need to do this in sequence. That is the unit first starts the power vent exhaust thus activating the pressure switch allowing the ignition cycle to the burners and heat. So the power vent fan needs to start first BEFORE you put the jumper on to bypass the pressure switch. Once the jumper is on it will call for ignition after approx 30 seconds. If ignites your problem is one of the 3 stated at the opening of this paragraph

My burners are not lighting up. circuit board said that my pressure switch was stuck closed, but my induce draft motor will run, hot suface ignitor will lite, and I got 24 volts to my gas valve. I changed...

Hello,
So, 2 things you want to check here-
First, the circuit board that controls that pressure switch can be bad and thus giving a faulty message pointing to the pressure switch, when it really may be the board that is bad.
Second, the pressure switch detects proper pressure for the inducer motor all the way through the venting- it seems like you already checked that but you may want to do a double check( I often over look simple blockages on the termination outside).
Hope this helps, James

I have a coleman unit the heater quit working. There is a red light that blinks three times. It represents ignition lockout. How do I fix it

Pressure switch error code, check air filter, condenstate drain and hoses, check for vent blockage, check for low spots in the venting holding water.

I have an old reznor model us-100f, the heater will run for approx. 10 min. before blower fan will start to run

Your fan switch is most likely bad. Need to replace.it with a new one. Not hard to replace just take old one to a AC supply house and they will match it. Or go on line to Reznor and they will have it, Just need the model number of unit. Rus

Have a dayton gas furnace #3E463A spoke to hiltonjug last week. purchased new air sensing switch and new gas valve. just installed new air switch and green light is not coming on on control box????

Is the pressure switch tubing installed correctly???...no holes in it???....and the furnace ventor motor is running????turn off the power and wait a couple seconds...turn the power back on with a call for heat and observe...the ventor(exhaust fan) should start running/....the pressure it causes closes the pressure switch and should power the 24v circuit to the circuit board turning the green light on....if not....check your vent outside....it could be plugged...this will also not allow the switch to close ....clean the vent etc....if the vent is clear and ventor running....ensure that the pressurw switch is actually closed...voltage test....and if it is then that wasn't your problem....need more info really

Heat not coming on carrier gas pack code 31

code 31 indicates pressure switch did not close or reopened during the heat cycle....1st thing to check is the inducer motor,,this is a small motor that turns a small blower wheel that draws the exhaust gases through the furnace and blows them into the vent pipe....1st locate the inducer assembly,,most easily identified by the small plastic fan blade that cools the inducer motor as it runs..1st turn off tstat and turn off furnace power switch..then turn on furnace switch, then set tstat to heat, set the temp above room temp by 5 degrees...remove the furnace front cover, locate the inducer motor,,if it isnt turning, but is warm or hot after a minute or so,likely the inducer motor is bad..if it isnt turning and isnt warm after 1 minute, then likely the main control board is bad,,not turning the inducer motor when it should,,,,,if the inducer motor is running,,then the pressure switch isnt closing,, could be a bad pressure switch but more likely there is a problem with the venting...some possible problems that would cause the pressure switch not to close in an 80% eff furnace [metal vent pipe] are: [1] a blockage in the vent pipe, base of chimney, dead bird at the furnace where vent connects to furnace or down inside the inducer assy, accessed by removing vent pipe from furnace....if all clear the chimney could be blocked up inside,,is the draft good when vent is removed from base of chimney?..if furnace is a 90%+ type [pvc plastic vent pipe],,then check the intake pipe at the furnace by removing it where it attaches to top of furnace..is the intake clogged with anything?..then check the intake and exhaust pipes outside for blockages,,including ice/frost/snow at the exhaust pipe outlet..

Furnace problems

On - OK
1 Blink - Ignition failure. Check Gas flow, gas pressure, gas valve, flame sensor.
2 Blinks - Closed pressure switch. Check pressure switch (stuck in closed position).
3 Blinks - Pressure switch - failre to close. Check venter, pressure switch, vent blockage.
4 Blinks - Open limit switch. Main limit or aux limit are open. (My comment - Means overheating in chamber. Often result of blocked intake air. Bad filter. In my case, plastic wrap had been sucked into the intake. )
6 Blinks - False flame sensed. Check sticking gas valve.
Rapid continuous blinking - Incorrect twinning, incorrect primary polarity. Reverse transformer secondary leads, reverse primary wires.

Closed pressure switch can be from dirty combustion vents, bad chamber pressure - like missing screws, maladjusted gas pressure, failing pressure switch, loose hoses, moisture in the hoses or fan blades The switch need to be closed to ge the unit to work
