The set will apparently only work with certain types of video files. This is a common situation with sets. Your Blue Ray DVD players usually are much more compatible regarding the files they accept for playback.

With your set, identify the files it will work with and only input those with your usb stick.

Seiki bd600 thinks there is a disk in it

Press and hold eject button and see if that helps.

The TV button is reserved for that device. The other buttons can be used for other devices regardless of button identification, so yes you can use the VCR button for your VCR and the AUX button for your DVD player. The latest One for All data I have does not list a Seiki DVD but code lists are updated from time to time and One for All might be able to supply one.
