I agree with Ray, there are several possible causes for this, and you need to find out firstly how to treat it right now, and then how to stop it getting any worse in future. I hope you do have access to a doctor, as so many do not. Good luck.

Harmonic balancers are made of two parts seperated by rubber. Sometimes the bonding fails and then the outer part moves around the center part. This makes it out of balance and causes it to vibrate. Also, something may have happened to cause a different part of the engine belt system to be out of balance, like a pulley with a bad bearing. If you run the engine with the belt off and the balancer still vibrates you may isolate that the problem is with the engine itself, or the balancer. However, you could still have worn pulley bearings. It also may be as simple as the belt is bad and makes it appear that the balancer is vibrating. Gates rubber web site offers a free belt groove test tool. When the grooves are very deep, the belt is bad, opposite of what you would think.

Hi, I have a 1998 1.3 Suzuki swift that has a violent wobble at the front end. its not tires, balance or bearings as this was all done in its mot last week. cant seem to see any obvious problems with parts...

the mot dont prove anything much>?
you do know that a real shop , not mot goofs.
a real ASE shop would attempt a in car tire balance
and it would either fail, or they would see the obvious , pronto.
for readers, MOT is "SMOG TEST STATION" in English.
Site side, they are NOT technicians At all, they just do their simple tests and give you thumps up or down.

what can it be, (first end this assumptions deal, keep a 100% open mind, only the truth will come out)
1: bad balance or bad shocks, (dampeners)
a tire that is just tiny bet out of balance will be 10x magnefied
with bad shocks, since 1920 to now. no changes....

2: ; bad wheel bearings.
3: bad supspension parts. lose, bent, bushings bad etc.
try a suspension shop, ask for them to check the front end parts.
5: bad drive. CV joints, or axles bent or bad.
again any real ASE shop can find this easy. Not the MOT s

If you know the tires need to be balanced why don't you start with that. the driveshaft will need to be brought to a machine shop that will be able to balance for you. May not be a bad idea to check the u-joint as well.

My truck ran over 60 mph , it is shaking

This sounds like the tires may be out of balance, the first step would be to have the tires balanced and as they are being balanced have them watch the tire and make sure there are no hops in the tires, a bad belt in the tire will cause a shake also. a bent rim will also cause this but most of the time its a bad tire or they just need balancing. good day

When I am going down the road my truck shakes really bad. But only when I am on the gas. What could be wrong with it?

it could be a "U-joint" in the driveshaft, a bad tire on the drive axle,a harmonic balancer on the front of the engine

I got 2 used tires on the front. Now it vibrates like you are on a gravel road. The steering wheel also vibrates. It is a smooth ride til you reach 60 mph or more. Some people said it is bad tires and some...

Sounds like they did a lousy job at balancing them or did not balance them at all. This is where I would begin. It could be a faulty bad tire if the balance checks out.

Harmonic balancer bad car runs real bad

The harmonic balancer controls the triggering of the combined crankshaft/camshaft sensor. This controls ignition plus fuel injection. Replace the balancer and adjust the sensor or replace it if damaged.
