Re: Printing from the internet or e-mail

TO isolate the problem you can do a print preview and see if if looks good before printing.

If it does look correct before printing try

1) Sounds like there was a communication problem between the printer and computer.(IF the printout is garbles characters)

Typically you need to

a) Delete any existing print jobs.
b) Turn off printer.
c) Verify all cable connections to printer.
d) Power on printer

Try printing again...

If print previw showed "Code"

If the print out is "HTML Code" make sure you are not selecting "view source" and printing it...

When printing from internet all I get is the HTML background files and not the page I desire. Printer does fine from a document from the PC, just not the internet

In regards to printing from the Internet alot of it has to do with how the web page is coded. Even though the page may fit on your screen there may be page breaks and formating that will effect the over all content that actually get printed.

So there is 2 things you can do:

The first step in ether option is to highlight the info you want to print. Then do not click on the quick print icon in the tool bar but select File then Print. This will open the prin properties then you can select the option to print selection which will print the part that you selected.

Now if you still have trouble printing then next thing is while you selection is still highlighted is to copy the info and paste it into a document. This way you will see all the formating and can clean it up into an standard page size before you print it.

Hope this helps

Try to print mapquest directions and sends blank sheet out

Internet printing can be tricky because everything is in HTML which is not designed for printing but for clicking. So there are links and features but when you try to print it can be blank or half pages. Is there a button on the site that says printable view or print these directions or something similar? If you click on that it should allow you to print the page as you see it on your screen.

Printing from online comes out very light

Typically, the quality of images and text on websites is very low resolution to keep the file size down in order for them to load more quickly on your screen. Just because it looks good on your screen doesn't mean it will print the same. There are just fewer dots per inch in the text and images and they can appear faint and low quality when printed. Look for a print icon on some web pages as it will be at least formatted properly to fit the page and some are of better quality than printing what is on the screen.

When it comes to emails, if the text is in a color, especially blue, they will tend to print light. Change your printer settings to print grayscale and that should help sharpen things up about as much as is possible.

HP 7260 works fine with e-mails and documents. Does not print internet pages.

This sounds like an issue with your web browser. Which web browser are you using? Do you get any error message when you print? Also, when you print, make sure it is printing to the printer you think you have set up. The web browser will allow you to print to a different printer, then remember those settings.
