Greater than -5, means infinitely close to -5, but greater than it, so it is on the right hand side of it. On a number line, we indicate this with an open circle at -5.

Less than or equal to 5 means 5 and everything less than 5. On a number line, we indicate this by drawing a circle at 5 and filling it in.

Sorry, I couldn't find a filled in circle to be the same size as the capital o;)

Good luck,

Paul

### I need help on homework of greater than less than or equal than.

In mathematics, if there are 2 numbers being looked at as an inequality, the greater-than symbol usually goes in between the two and symbolizes that the first number is greater than the second number (For example: 4 > 2, or 102 > 100).

### 7.2468901 rounding nearest thousand

I assume you want to round it to the nearest thousandth.

Step 1 - identify the thousandths column - going to the right of the decimal are tenths, than hundredths, than thousandths

Step 2 - check the number immediately to the right of this column

Step 3 - if this number is 5 or greater, add 1 to the thousandths column

Step 4 - if this number is 4 or less - no nothing

Step 5 - delete all numbers to the right of the thousandths column

In this case the 8 is greater than or equal to 5, so we add 1 to the 6 to get 7 and then delete all the numbers to the right.

I get 7.247.

Good luck.

### Why more than one is not equal?

Equal means the two sides of the balance (scales) contain exactly the same amount. When there is more on one side, there is obviously less on the other side and that makes the amounts on either side NOT equal
If you say that some quantity is more than one the number used to express the quantity in question exceeds 1 by some amount (big or small, it does not matter)
1+1 =2
3 is more than 1 is written 3>1
But if 3 is more than 1, then 1 is less than 3 and you write 1<3
Equal =
> greater than, more than, exceeds, larger than
< less than

### How do you use the equal sign on the ti-84

The equal sign of the TI83/84/Plus is a relational operator like less than , greater than, less than or equal to) You use it when you are testing if two values (numbers, expressions, or matrices) are equal.
For example, if in one your programs what you do at a certain time depends on the equality of two expressions, you test the equality by a statement :
If A=B do this action.

### How do you represent the set of rational numbers in symbol form

hi maybe the formula below will help you

A rational number is a number that can be expressed as a fraction with an integer numerator and a non-zero natural number denominator. Fractions are written as two numbers, the numerator and the denominator, with a dividing bar between them. In the fraction written mn or
m represents equal parts, where n equal parts of that size make up one whole. Two different fractions may correspond to the same rational number; for example 1⁄2 and 2⁄4 are equal, that is:
If the absolute value of m is greater than n, then the absolute value of the fraction is greater than 1. Fractions can be greater than, less than, or equal to 1 and can also be positive, negative, or zero. The set of all rational numbers includes the integers, since every integer can be written as a fraction with denominator 1. For example −7 can be written −7⁄1. The symbol for the rational numbers is Q (for quotient), also written .
