Pull the spark plug out of the saw and put a little cutting oil in the cylinder and try to turn it over.

Testimonial: "Yes, I removed the spark plug, poured a small amount of fuel into the cylinder and turned the flywheel with a socket on the securing nut. I know not why. But the piston was stuck. With a little pressure on the nut, the piston loosened up. Thanks,"

When you store the saw in cold damp conditions pull the spark plug and put a little light oil in the cylinder and run the piston up and down to oil the cylinder wall, reinstall the plug and no worries of this happening again. Please rate me as HELPFUL, Thanks.

Is there a way to unstick the piston?

Use cutting oil (ATF Fluid works well) and let it soak overnight, if that doesn't free it you need to remove and rebuild the engine. You can (after waiting for the oil to work) try a wooden dowel that will fit in the spark plug hole and then hit the dowel to try and free the sticking piston, use finis, tap with only moderate force repeated times.

Echo t330 chainsaw has compression lock cant pull start cord

remove your spark plug and try to pull over. if it still won't turn over then you will have to decarbon your head or you have vapor lock so then with plug removed pull recoil and if fuel sprays out of plug hole keep pulling over until there is no more spray from hole. clean plug off. reinstall and try starting

How do you test the ingition coil on a echo 16 inch chainsaw?

Remove the ignition switch wire from the module. Set the module pole gap by turning the flywheel magnets under the module poles, insert a thin business card into the gaps, and loosen the module screws to allow the module to contact the magnets. Tighten the screws and turn the flywheel somewhat to release the card. Turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the gaps don't close up at any point. Test for a blue, snappy spark at a fresh plug gapped 0.020". If nothing or very weak, replace the module. Hope this helps!

Recoil problem

Hi there .
You can try to remove the recoil starter and turn the flywheel by hand . If it turns by hand you have to replace the recoil starter if it does not turn by hand that means the piston is seized and you have to replace the piston ans probably the cylinder . To do that you need some mechanic experience .
Hope this help

You may be able to install a solid state ignition module. It's tricky but can be done.

Chainsaw won't start

Time to get out your trusty tool kit. Remove the side cover assembly and look at the recoil assembly. You should see a pair of fingers that when you pull the cord move toward the center. If the fingers are there and not broken, make sure they move when you pull the cord. clean them if dirty or have foreign objects (like sawdust) around them. If the fingers are broken, replace them. You should be able to purchase them from your local saw shop.
