Put the temp select switch on HOT, start machine. If water comes out check the flow amount. If no water flow, replace inlet water valve. If there is water flow switch to COLD, start machine. If water comes out check the flow amount should be approximately equal or slightly more than flow on HOT. If no water flow, replace inlet water valve. Move selector to WARM, start machine. Now there should be twice the flow of water than there was with HOT and COLD temps. I suspect it is the HOT side of inlet water valve that has failed because machines usually rinse with COLD water.

Maytag Model A511 Cold water will not fill for wash or rinse cycles. Water is on, hoses are straight, and filters are clean. Water valve checks out OK (110V across terminals on both solenoids, slight...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. Your testing of the solenoid was good. My question is this... when the timer stops do you still get the magnetic attraction? If I interpet this correctly; the answer is no. So we are dealing with a power problem. Power comes from the timer straight to the COLD solenoid. (Blue wire)

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/sect/i/e/j/iejjijajjf.gif (wiring diagram)

Power comes in to the TIMER from the lid switch on the red wire of terminal 12. It is supposed to be then routed to Yellow wire terminal 3 and the internal contacts of the timer (buss 14) connect power to the BLUE wire 5B. If your not getting power at the timer 5B / Blue wire lid closed the problem is inside the timer. Just make sure the timer connections discussed above are correct ON the timer.

Maytag PN 2.5639 timer NEW price is around $147.00 for factoryoriginal Used Avg $35.00. Your choice if you need a timer.

I have a Cummins 1/2 hrs.bench grinder in pieces. 3 wires from the inside - Black, red, and blue. A capacitor with two male connectors on the end and a switch. How does it need to be wired?

The capacitor goes across the Line, terminals, of the Motor, The Black, should Be Neutral, the RED should be Power IN to the Switch, and the Blue, the "Other" side of the switch. The Capacitor, sometimes goes on the Spare (If any) Terminals of the "Cold" side of the Power Switch.
International color code is Red Positive or Phase, Blue, Phase or Positive, Black, usually Neutral, Negative .
The capacitor is a Suppression" capacitor, and is usually "Across the Motor terminals on "Cold" or "Switched" side of the circuit.
The circuit is simple, Neutral is "Common" the Power comes in to the Switch Contact, whereby the activation of said switch, joins the "Contacts" to the Phase. Positive, Wire to the "Motor". The "Other Terminal Wire from the Motor, goes to Common. The capacitor. Is installed in Parallel with the Phase and Neutral on the "Cold" or normally unpowered side of the circuit.

Whirlpool top load washer no cold water

You either have a bad selector switch or a bad water valve. If you open the top of the washer, look in the inside back, oppasite where the water hoses connect. you will see two flat plugs. One red and one blue. Swap them around. Try to fill with cold water again. If you are now getting cold water, you have a bad switch. If not, you have a bad selector switch.

Bosch WFD 2460 Washig Machine

Hi, It sounds like you have the two water pipes fitting on the wrong connectors on the back of the machine.

IE: The hot water pipe (RED connector) on the cold water inlet on the back of the machine (BLUE connector)

Is should be red to red and blue to blue.
