Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

It would help to know the mail software you're using.

In Thunderbird your windows open with "tabs" that proceed to the right at the top of your window and can be selected for viewing much like the way you used the internet. That's likely because it's the same outfit that offers Foxfire as a browser.

16 is a lot of tabs across the screen. You probably need to select one and see what it is. Something you were reading and stopped perhaps?

My tv has a line across the middle of the screen. The sound is fine.

take it to a repair center for further help.what has happened is that the vertical out put has failed. so the set needs qualified electronic technician to solve the problem.

Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

On my 60" philips it has double lines at the top an at the botton across.i tried to ajust the converge red but didnot work.

In my 10+ experience, lines across the screen has always been a repair issue. Any type of permanent distortion in a television picture such as lines or spots indicates a failure in one or more of the components inside the set that control the picture. If you're in warranty or have an extended service plan, this repair will be covered. Otherwise, you'll have to pay and the cost will likely be a minimum of $250 with a maximum that doesn't bear mentioning.

Simply put, there's another part that needs to be replaced, or the one that was replaced is defective. Call the repair shop that did the work for you. Their work is warrantied for 90 days. However, if your set needs a different part, and this is an out of warranty repair, you will have to pay additional costs.

If you have a line going across the screen, that is a repair issue. Akai USA is no longer in the TV business, so getting your set repaired will be a drawn out and tedious process. Ask yourself if you want to sink $200+ into fixing this set or use the money toward the purchase of a new one. If you want to go forward with repair, visit www.akaiusa.com once you have a work order from a local service center stating what part(s) are needed for repair. Warning: many Akai parts are no longer available.

Tried to update firmware and now all I get is a blue screen with the word Magellan across it and a black line across the bottom of the screen. how do I fix it?

run the firmware again and make sure you wait until it tells you to disconnect the usb and wait for the unit to finish the reboot.
