SOURCE: Hello, Currently I have Vaio laptop connected

You need a 1/8 in cord on both ends. Normally, its an 1/8 inch audio connection in your tv to work with PC (the same connection as when you plug it in your comp) So u would need a wire that both ends are 1/8 inch (Headphone jack sized)

SOURCE: I lose Audio from internal speakers Vizio

This issue is actually caused by my cable box. Access the audio SETTINGS on Hand held Cable Remote, and turn on the HDMI and or "Digital Audio Out" option. found on 'more' settings list. This should fix the issue. I had assumed the Cable companeis 'Boot' would have installed this feature during its initialization.

Vizio TV Model M550SV. My tv has picture but no sound. I have reset cable box and changed to different input. Also the Netflix app on tv has no sound either. DVD player also has no sound thru the tv

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Vizio M550SV no sound. Is there an audio card or does the main board have to be replaced?

From the top
- HDMI - both Audio and Video come from device via one cable.
- RF Coaxial (aka CATV) - both Audio and Video come from device via one cable.
- 15 Pin Dsub (they are calling it RGB), Video comes from this cable and Audio is from a dual 1/4" plug (looks like a headphone wire at both ends).
- Component (this is true RGB) uses RCA type cables - two sets of cables, cable one has 3 RCA at each end and they are color coded, as follows Red/Green/Blue, cable two has two RCA color coded as follows White/Red. Cable one is Video, and cable two is audio, total of 5 connections at source and 5 connections at tv.
- Composite AV - one cable set, coded as follows - Red/White/Yellow, Red/White are audio and Yellow is video.
Hope this helps.

On the specs for this tv, you might have to use an HDMI cable if your dvd or blu-ray supports it. Look for a small rectangular jack labled "HDMI" on the back of the DVD player. HDMI cables are about $10 stores. And you only need One. For both Audio and Video.

Does not switch to its external speakers

You have a cabling and/or setup issue and need to check your hardware manuals (or find them online) for instructions.

I have a Samsung HT-C550, a DirecTV satellite box, a Vizio 37" HDTV, a Sony 5-disk DVD player and a Vizio Blu-Ray DVD player, all peacefully co-existing (with the use of a bunch of cables as well as a Logitech Harmony 700 universal remote).

The TV (not the home theater) controls the use of the TV speakers.

There are multiple options to get this to work. I run an HDMI cable from the sat box to the TV. (HDMI sends audio & video to the TV). I then run an optical cable from the TV to the CT550 and use the "D-In" setting to get the sound to play.

Instead of the optical cable from TV to CT550, you can run audio from the sat/cable box directly to the CT550 using (red/white) RCA cables from the "audio out" jacks on the sat/cable box to the "AUX1" or "AUX2" inputs on the CT550"

Hope this helps!!

LCD TV Has Sound, Backlights Work, but No Picture

I have been having the same problem with my LG. people say there are bad capacitors on the power supply board. I don't have the know how to replace them and don't have the money to pay. I can get mine to work by blowing hot air with a hair dryer into the back of my tv through the vents over the board. Heat it up for a couple minutes and turn it off and then back on and the picture comes back. I just never turn the set off now.

Hi, Yamaha audio-video receivers are equipped with a variety of connecting jacks for hooking up different types of electronic equipment. Component AV cables are typically used for hooking up the receiver to a cable TV box. Component cables can also be used to connect the Yamaha receiver to an HDTV, although a High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) cable offers a simpler connection if the receiver is equipped with HDMI (all HDTV sets are equipped with the distinctive, six-sided HDMI jack). The connections should take less than five minutes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

* 2 sets component AV cables
* HDMI cable

Check the back of the Yamaha receiver to determine if HDMI is available. The six-sided jack contains 19 holes set in three rows. If the receiver is equipped with an HDMI Out port, use an HDMI cable to connect to the TV by inserting the plug straight into the jack with the wider end turned upward.

Insert the red, green and blue plugs on a set of component AV cables into the Video Out jacks on the cable TV box, matching the plug colors to the jacks.

Connect the plugs on the other end to a set of Video In jacks on the back of the Yamaha receiver. Make a note of which jacks are used for the connection. Each set of jacks is labeled on the receiver.

Insert the audio plugs on the component cables into the Audio Out jacks on the cable box, using the white plug for the left channel and the red plug for the right.

Attach the plugs on the other end to the Audio In jacks on the Yamaha receiver.

Use a second set of component AV cables to connect from the AV Out jacks on the Yamaha to the AV In jacks on the HDTV only if an HDMI cable was not used.
