Replace micro fuse F903 (5amp). It's located near the biggest 2 caps. in power supply area.

JayAbed is 100% correct. This F903 fuse is an $0.87 part. Although my repairman also changed the STRM6511 component ($11 at newark.com) he said it wasn't defective. What was keeping my TV (Hitachi 60SX12B) in protective mode was a blown 5amp fuse. BELIEVE IT!!!! and for you DIYs...Remove the ENTIRE board and work on it from below. You won't have to unhook ANYTHING! Good luck, and I hope this saves some of this great beasts from being tossed.

Have an Hitachi 60sx12b. the sound meter bar stays on. can manually adjust the sound up but will go back down to 0. tv remote or sat. remote doesn't work at all. Please help

Hi,
It sounds either volume down button is bad that turns volume down on its own or system control chip got defective and decreasing volume level.
Press volume down button on tv front and check is it working properly.
Let me know to find out further info to solve the issue.
Thanks.

Wont power on

Good day, papamotts;

Hitachi has LED’s, green ‘lights’ and a red light to determine what circuit may be the problem; after removing the back of TV, bottom only, plug TV back in and observe which LED’s come on …..BUT most important which LED’s don’t come on; locate and note number, EG; DP37 and etc.

Good luck, big IRISH. Ps let me know.
