Connecting samsung sound bar to sanyo fvm3982 tv

Here are steps to connect a Samsung soundbar to a Sanyo FVM3982 TV using an optical cable:
  1. Locate the Optical Out port on the back of the Sanyo TV. This port will be labeled "Optical Out" and is usually covered by a small protective cap.
  2. Remove the protective cap from the Optical Out port and plug in one end of the optical cable.
  3. Connect the other end of the optical cable to the Optical In port on the Samsung soundbar. This port may be labeled "Optical In" or "Toslink".
  4. Turn on both the TV and the soundbar.
  5. On the Sanyo TV, use the remote to navigate to the audio settings. Look for an option to set the audio output to "External Speakers", "External Audio", or "Optical Out". Select this option.
  6. Adjust the volume on the Samsung soundbar using its remote control.
Once these steps are completed, the sound from the TV should be played through the Samsung soundbar. If you encounter any issues or don't hear any sound, check to make sure that the soundbar is set to the correct input and that the volume is turned up. Additionally, make sure that both the TV and soundbar are properly connected and powered on.

Got an ONN TV and an ONN soundbar. Hooked up via RCA cable. TV audio in PCM mode. Soundbar in AUX mode. Can't get any sound from soundbar. What have I missed?

PCM mode is a digital audio file that should be sent to the soundbar via an optical or coaxial digital audio cable. The coaxial digital audio cable uses an RCA plug but not the L/R stereo channels of analog audio. The aux input is usually the 3.5 MM cable from a computer, CD or MP3 player or a cell phone or tablet.

First, which type of RCA cable is connected between the sound bar and the TV? Second, are you sure that the TV connection is an audio out? (A number of recent TVs have only one audio output. This means there is only the optical audio out and not even a headphone jack.)

Once you double-check the input at the sound bar, choose the Line In input if you are using the stereo RCA cable. If you are using the Optical input, select that input. Use either the Mode button or the specific input button on the remote. Then double-check that the TV is set for the appropriate audio out.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model of the TV and the sound bar for further information. I looked at the ONB18SB001 documentation for some of this. The manual for this Onn soundbar is available at Manuals Lib. See https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1498038/Onn-Onb18sb001.html?page=12#manual for the list of input modes and the input to which they correspond. Here is the image of the inputs on the back of the ONB18SB001: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1498038/Onn-Onb18sb001.html?page=7#manual .

How do I connect hw-h450 wireless soundbar to 40h5003af samsung tv?

Really depends on what you're switching. If you plan on using a DVD, Cable/Satellite receiver, or more than you'll want to plug all those sources into the HDMI inputs of the TV. From the TV you'll want to run an SPdiF cable to the back of the sound bar. These cables can be had for less than $6 on Amazon unless you have one already. This is the simplest and cleanest way to use the soundbar as the TV's speakers. Go to MENU on the TV and select AUDIO and then turn off the TV's speakers. This will enable the SPdiF output to the soundbar.

How do I hook up a Yamaha RX-V377 receiver to a Samsung HW-H450 soundbar?

Not sure why you would want to set things up this way, but you have to set the audio output in the receiver hdmi setup menu to tv. This will allow the receiver to pass audio info out of the hdmi jack. By default, this is turned off.

I have a Philips soundbar that I have hooked up to my flat screen tv using audio (red, white) cables directly from soundbar to tv and there is no sound coming out.

Be sure you are hooking up the Audio Output from the TV or satellite to the soundbar.

From the satellite box both Audio Output and Video Output go to the TV, and then Audio Output from the TV goes to the soundbar.
Or
From the satellite box Video Output goes to the TV and Audio Output goes to the soundbar.

How do I connect Samsung soundbar 550 to sanyo dp55441?

Use the audio out ports on the Sanyo to get audio to the Soundbar. You can use a single digital audio cable or the legacy RCA audio cables. The Audio Out ports are marked in white on the back of the TV. If it doesn't work, turn off the TV Speakers in the TV's menu.

Do i need to buy anything extra for my ilive 37' soundbar for my tv? The sound doesnt work with my tv, but the bluetooth works just fine.

You'll need some sort of audio cable to connect the TV's sound or audio output to the soundbar. For the most basic connection, use an RCA-style cable ( like the one found here: http://goo.gl/5F8yLh ) to connect your TV's audio output to the soundbar's input. Most soundbars also have an SPDIF input ( like the one found here: http://goo.gl/2F2rKs ) and most modern TV's have an SPDIF output. Get an SPDIF optical digital audio cable to connect the two devices together. Once you've decided which type of connection to use and have connected the TV's audio output the soundbar, then make sure you select the proper input on the soundbar. That should fix your problem.

I have a proscan with no sound so I brought a

You hooked up the sound bar to the cable box red & white sockets, right. Now you have the soundbar hooked up to the TV red and white sockets. Did you notice any difference with the labeling on the two sets of sockets? The cable box sockets were labeled "Audio Out", but the TV sockets are labeled "Audio In"

AV signals are directional. Any socket labeled "Out" will give a signal from it for connecting to another device e.g. the connection from the cable box to the soundbar.

Any socket labeled "In" is designed to accept a signal from something else, but it won't give a signal out. So you can't connect the TV's Audio In socket to the soundbar's Audio In socket because both expect a signal from something else and neither supply a signal out.

Check the back of the Proscan TV. Is there a socket labeled Audio Out? If so, use that.
