One key on the higher keyboard will not sound. How can this be repaired?

sounds like keyboard is defective. Ensure there is no debris between keys. Keyboards and not worth trying to repair them.

Either your key scanning section or the power amplifier has fried.

Get it repaired by a professional. Casio gives long warranty (5 years in Australia). Mine took weeks for Casio Service to repair. Many boards had to be changed.

sounds like your keyboard is faulty, al those keys are on the same down line - only thing to try is open it and see if there's anything obviously wrong with the wiring and try to repair it if possible otherwise you'll probably need to buy a new keyboard.

Normally there are keys on the keyboard mine is on the bottom right of the keyboard showing a up key and a down key use the Fn key as well as the up volume key and that should take the volume higher

if that dont work go into control panel sound and audio and raise the level in there

Sounds like the keyboard is bad. Ican exchange it with a rebuilt keyboard for 95.00 including shipping.

Just wanted to "chime" in. I just recieved a Casio keyboard from a customer with this same problem to work on. I initially found 4 corroded solder joints. Repaired them, same problem. Ginocumbe's description leans me towards capacitors. Will let you know what I find or even if I cant figure it out. Though 2 years ago, you probably added your synth to the land fill.

Hi, Typical keyboard problems such as this can be attributed to dust and other foreign material that get lodged in between the contact switch of each key. Since the repair cost sometimes exceed the cost of a new keyboard, it may be to your advantage to simply purchase a replacement (that is of course if the errors outweighs the use). A trick you can try is lengthen the time between repetitive keystrokes (but this will apply to all the keys not only ' and ~). This is done in your BIOS (assuming this feature is available with your motherboard). On powerup, press del or the key designed to enter the BIOS setup. See if you have the option to control your "Typematic Rate Setting" and select enable, in the "Typematic Delay:, select 500 or higher. Save and reboot. Hope this works for you.
