Yamaha DGX 640 - keys make odd sound

I don't think that is correctable; if it is under warranty, have it repaired or replaced. The yamaha keyboards are great when they work partly because they use sampled sounds; getting extra sounds indicates a bad chip.

Problem with casio CTK-691 keyboard

"can I do it my self or should I go to a professional to get it repaired"?
Get it repaired by a professional. Casio gives long warranty (5 years in Australia). Mine took weeks for Casio Service to repair. Many boards had to be changed.

My keyboard keys does not work. Keys W,S,X and 2 are not functioning.

sounds like your keyboard is faulty, al those keys are on the same down line - only thing to try is open it and see if there's anything obviously wrong with the wiring and try to repair it if possible otherwise you'll probably need to buy a new keyboard.

I have a Casio Privia & I believe liquid fell unto the keyboard & as a result 8 notes do not have any sound. How can I get this repaired? I bought this 3 years ago.

You can try to dry the inside of the keyboard by taking the end of the key board off.
Take a hair dryer and place it at the end of the keyboard and let the air dry out the fluid this may take some time depends on how much fluid you have inside.
Do not use the dryer on high because the heat will warp the bed the keys fit into, this will damage the board which cost about $ 400.00 to repair. Do not turn on the key board while the fluid is still inside this can also damage the keyboard. I belive you have already turn it on because you said eight keys do not work.Do not open the keyboard because the keys will be hard to put back in the grooves the way they were.

You can try and have it repaired at American Perfect Crystal Corporation

New York, New York 10018
212-246-8292
800-345-0537

They will charge about 50-89 dollars to check it for you and if its reparable the checking fee will go toward the repair.
I wasted kool-aid in my casio privia while the keyboard was off, but made a grave mistake because I tried to repair it my self with the hair dryer at a high level. I was told that the major board was warp, that being said try not to do self repair.

Sounds like you may just have your numlock on. Just press function key plus F6 (on a macboook) and the numlock is off. If not you may have a broken keyboard. You can try to replace the keyboard yourself using an Apple Tablet Repair Guide or send it to a third party service Apple Tablet Repair.

Keys on Casio keyboard are inoperative

Just wanted to "chime" in. I just recieved a Casio keyboard from a customer with this same problem to work on. I initially found 4 corroded solder joints. Repaired them, same problem. Ginocumbe's description leans me towards capacitors. Will let you know what I find or even if I cant figure it out. Though 2 years ago, you probably added your synth to the land fill.

Keyboard bug

Hi, Typical keyboard problems such as this can be attributed to dust and other foreign material that get lodged in between the contact switch of each key. Since the repair cost sometimes exceed the cost of a new keyboard, it may be to your advantage to simply purchase a replacement (that is of course if the errors outweighs the use). A trick you can try is lengthen the time between repetitive keystrokes (but this will apply to all the keys not only ' and ~). This is done in your BIOS (assuming this feature is available with your motherboard). On powerup, press del or the key designed to enter the BIOS setup. See if you have the option to control your "Typematic Rate Setting" and select enable, in the "Typematic Delay:, select 500 or higher. Save and reboot. Hope this works for you. Good luck and kind regards.
