Cynthia, you have actually given enough information to determine humidifier needs. Just assume that it is a 7 foot ceiling throughout and your answer is about 1500 square feet. For an 8 foot ceiling call it 1700 square feet. You only need these approximate values for this application because a humidifier will function over a reasonable range of room volume. You don't need precise figures, so choose a humidifier that handles at least your approximate volume or something near it.

You cannot from the measures you have given
a cubic measure( volume ) requires 3 dimensions namely a length X width X height ans as you have only given a length (27ft) by width(8ft) so you need to say how high the unit is to get a cubic capacity

Need for a home dehumidifier for a 120 square meters space

normall you will need one pint of water for each 1,000 cubic feed of space in your . . example. 2,000 square foot with 8 foot ceiling would contain some 16,000 cubic feet. = 16 pint per day capcity to dehumidify the area.

God bless you

Just purchases the DD50PC. Set the pump to continuous, hooked the hose to the slop sink in basement approx 8 feet, pump running fine but when looked at it the next day the pump had shut off and the tank...

The reason this happened may be two fold. Either the hose is clogged or the length of hose is to long and then has to go up hill into the slop sink. The owner's Manual says the pump is rated for an 8 foot lift. However, what I have discovered is that rating, does not take friction loss in to account.

Try moving the unit closer to the sink and shorten the hose about a foot or two. Actually, a floor drain would be perfect, if you have one in your basement.

Hope this helped you ad thanks for choosing FixYa.

Cannot get a hose to attach to dehumidifier

Just a regular garden hose, no longer than 5 feet, is all that's necessary. Even a clothes washer, water supply hose will work. As the female connector fittings are the same size on both.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Is it possible to buy a tube that will allow me to drain my dehumidifier (Whirlpool Accudry AD25BBL6) into my ejector pump that I use with my air conditioning unit?

A standard Garden Hose will work. However, the hose can not be any longer than 5 feet and must always slope downward. As, there is no pump in the dehumidifier. It relies entirely on gravity to drain thru a hose. So, unless your condensation pump is within 5 feet of the dehumidifier, it won't work.

Hope this helped you. Please let e know.

I have a Maytag dehumidifier M7DH45B2A, and want to connect a drain hose, as opposed to using the bucket as we always have. What kind of hose, and do I just remove the bucket and hook up to the same...

Unless it can be 100% gravity feed (1 inch drop per foot) you might need this:

Part: WPL8212501
Fits Maytag M7DH45B2A 496719-1.jpg (Click images to Enlarge)

Description:

Pump-drain

No. in Pack:

1

Additional info:

Dehumidifier pump assembly conveniently attaches the pump kit to you dehumidifier. connect a run hose to a nearby sink, pump, or floor drain. this pump will push water through a hose to up to 18 vertical feet for drainage through a window.
Stock Status: In Stock

Price:

$107.79 - addtocart.gif
This part is also known as:
8212501

If you can gravity feed it and can get a hose around the output pipe then any flexible hose will work that is slightly larger than the output pipe.

What is the best humidity setting for a four foot high crawl space?

Depends on the cubic footage (length x width x height = cubic footage) and how damp it is. If you're not going to have to dump the collection tank (a drain hose is connected to the unit to run water out of the craw space and away from the house), I would run it on high for 24 hours and then lower it to medium for several days. After that, you should have a pretty good indication what it takes to keep the craw space dry. At least, until the next heavy, continuous rain storm.

If this is an on going problem, I'm not sure that a humidifier is the total answer. You need to look at the causes for this moisture (i.e) Are the downspouts carrying the water away from the house? Are the gutters and downspouts clogged with debris, causing the gutters to overflow? Does the earth around the foundation need to be regraded, so that water runs away from the foundation? Has the moisture barrier on the outside, underground around the foundation failed? Would installing an automatic sump pump in the crawl space be more efficient?

So, in addition to the dehumidifier, you need to look at the big picture and eliminate the cause(s).

Hope this helps to solve your problems.

Can I set my dehumidifier to turn cycle on and off while I am traveling

Normally a dehumidifier will run based on the humidity found in the air in the room it is located in, although many can be set to run all the time.

I don't believe your model can be set to run next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday because you will be home and th NOT run next Friday and Saturday because you will be traveling, for example.

Your machine should run on automatic until the bucket fills with water at which time it should stop running until you empty the bucket. Many buckets offer the feature of adding a drain hose you can run to a drain somewhere. Some people have a floor drain they use for such purposes. Others I have known sit the device on the counter and drain into a sink or in the bath tub and drain that way.

For best dehumidifying results, you should run your machine all the time.

I hope I have answered your quesiton. Thanks for considering FixYa.com
