When i press the wreck magnesium power button the unit starts but turns off after ten seconds. What the problem as the light continues to flash.

You could have a couple of problems. 1, you could have a broken belt, 2, you could have a bad sensor, or 3, you could have a bad pc board. The Magnesium has a sensor that detects whether or not the brush is turning. A quick way to check would be turn the vacuum over and turn it on, if the brush does not turn in those 10 seconds, you have a broken belt. If it does turn, I would suggest taking it to an Oreck repair store because it may still be under warranty and the sensor or pc board may still be covered under warranty. Hope this helps!

I have a brand new hoover canister s3755 and the beater brush will not turn on the carpet it spins fine as soon as you lift it slightly off of the floor, I can't imagine it is the belt as the mac

It's commonly the belt when they're new. More explained here:

Call Hoover and complain, they'll likely send you a new one. The service centers will not be able to give you a belt under warranty as it is a "wear" part.

Bissell cyclone pet hair earser-how do I get the brush to stop turning when using the attachments? I burned my carpet and melted the bristles on the brush. I just replaced with new brush and belt but I...

Ms. Williamson-
It seem the your micro switch is broken. This is the switch that tells the vacuum that it is upright and that the roller motor should be turned off. if you have only had the vacuum for a few months then i would take it in to a Bissell Authorized Dealer. every vacuum has at least a 1 year warranty. so it should still be covered under warranty, if you have you proof of purchase that would be the best!
I suggest going to and plugging your address to there store service locator. So that way you can get this problem taken care of and that you dont burn your carpet again and ruin your roller brush and belt.
Have a great day!

My dyson is making a loud scweeky noise Remove the bottom plate and disconnect the belt.If it still makes the noise it is the lower motor that drives the brush that is bad.If it dosent make the noise try cleaning off the hair and debris from the motor pully and replace the belt you will need to take the brush out to do this. While the brush is out check the ends for binding they should turn smoothly with very little resistance also check the area the belt rides on the brush and make sure there is no dirt buildup in the area the cogs of the belt ride in. If it is the lower motor and is less than 5 years old call Dyson and they will generate a work order for a service provider. It may very well be under warranty. !-866-693-9766

How do I replace the belt on the DC 17

Take out the (3) screws on the bottom of the brush roll cover and then you can remove the roller brush and change the belt. Here is the belt you need:

My hoover elite rewind is making a louder noise and I can smell something burning when I use it. I have replaced the belt but this did not help.

the smell is either the motor or the belt, if motor hope it is under warranty, if belt make sure brush roll spins freely and replace belt, if brush roll not spin freely replace it first

Trying to replace roller brush on DC07 model

Hi the dyson is a bit strange with this the dyson engineers use a hook to put under the belt and pull it out to allow the brush to be removed I used a metal coat hanger to make the hook after seeing the dyson engineer when ours was under warranty if you make the hook with the wire doubled up it works fine for me hope this is of help Fred

Brush roller on Hoover upright stops turning

There should be a belt tensioner for the V belt, maybe it is not contacting the belt when you tilt the handle back. If this is less then 1 year old, then it is under warranty, take it in to a warranty servicer for warranty repair.
