Check the iPhone's connector. There may be a pin problem that triggered the issue. iPod/iPhone connectors are known to have such problem.
You can also clean or use cotton bud to clear out any excess dirt in the connector. That may help.

iPhone is known for not connecting well with other phone brands than - another iPhone.
Now, problem connecting to a Mac - is a problem - it shouldn't be at all.
you weren't specific enough, have you managed to link to a bluetooth earphone? does the iPhone "jailbroken" (software modified in any way)? 1. I would try to connect to other Macs (if possible). if this will not work, 2. make sure you have the latest software update, and if that won't solve it, 3. back up your data, and perform a clean restore (done through iTunes) - these solutions assuming your phone is not Jailbroken or modified in any way.

SOURCE: it cannot connect with mobile
Here is something to try on your iPhone. Hopefully it should fix your problem.
On the iphone, delete all the headsets you may have used from the UI of the iphone.
Turn off the headset.
Warm reset the iphone, press and hold the home and power keys on the iphone for 10s, the screen will go blank and the phone will reset.
While the iphone is rebooting, turn on the headset again and put it into pairing mode with the LED flashing red/white, red/white ...
Now when the iphone is ready, make it search for the headset.
When you see the "9xxPlantronics - Not Paired" entry on the iphone UI, then tap the screen where this message is displayed and the iphone will pair to the headset.
Good luck from Headsets Direct - 800-914-7996.

SOURCE: explorer 240 keeps shutting down
It may be something having to do with an upgrade application that may
have been done. If this was what happened then you may have to down
grade back to original settings. If this is not the case I would do a
hard reset with cell phone let your battery go dead, remove from phone.
place it back in and recharge re do the pair and or subscribe.

I am having the same problem, My iPhone 4S recognized the Belkin transmitter for over a year now it doesn't work. It does recognize other iPods and iPads, and works great. When it first stopped working I tried to uninstall the clear scan app and reinstall. Any suggestions?
