Phillip...

The SECRET is to connect it exactly as it was (before).

The screws on the control are color coded

R,W, Y AND Green... TYPICALLY that MATCHES THE TERMINALS OF THE SAME COLOR inside you heater controller.

Yes ... Red, White... Yellow...

What you need to do is look at the picture you took... or the notes you took BEFORE disconnecting those wires...

ELSE...

Go to where the HEATER CONTROL BOARD IS...

Pull the front cover... Snap a picture for your memoirs...

and write a TRUTH TABLE

AT THE HEATER... TAKE NOTES...!!

RED SCREW = (for example red wire)
Yellow =
Green =
White =

BACK AT THE Thermostat Screws:

RED = (
SAME COLOR WIRE as at the HEATER)
Yellow = (SAME COLOR
WIRE AS THE HEATER)
Green = (
SAME COLOR WIRE AS THE HEATER)
White = (
SAME COLOR WIRE AS THE HEATER)

You should be fine...

I have a white-Rodgers 1F86-244 thermostat. When I turn the temp down it clicks on. But when left to come on its own it does not. I replaced batteries & reset it several times. Do I need a new...

Hi. This is Aaron Moratalla from White Rodgers. The clicking sound indicate the relays inside 1F86-244 are working. Say you want heat and your room temperature reading (left side of LCD) is 70F and your set Temperature (right side) is 75F. When you push the down arrow and set it from 75F to 69F or lower then you should hear the soft clicking sound. Same thing if from 69F you increase it to 71F or higher. If you don't have the clicking sound it means your thermostat could be broken. If that is the case then call our Tech Support at 800-284-2925. It's line is open M-F from 7AM to 1Am CST and Sat-Sun from 7AM to 4PM CST. Thank you for choosing White Rodgers!

Where is the model number of the thermostat located? just moved into a condo with the White Rodgers thermostat and need instructions on use.

It's probably on a tag on the back of the unit, but you will probably have to remove it from the wall mounting to be able to read it. If it is the 1F85RF-275 model you can download a PDF version of the Operating Manual HERE. ___ *Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. I bought a house and its equipped with white rodgers thermostat controller for its furnace. only problem is i do not know how to control it and also even i can not find the model number of that

Remove the unit from the wall; the model number should be on a tag on the back. The Operating Manuals for many White-Rodgers thermostats can be found in PDF form HERE, however they are not indexed by model number so you will have to download each file in turn until you find the one you want. All of the file names beginning with "0037-" seem to be W-R products.*Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, despite the handle. I have a problem with a White rodgers 1C20-101 thermostat. The lower heat setting for room temp goes up to 80 degrees when the thermostat is set at 70 degrees. Is this normal for this type of unit?

Set System Switch to Cool and lower setpoint below room temperature.
Verify thermostat and system wires are securely attached.
Diagonistic: Set System Switch to Cool and lower the setpoint below the room temperature. Within a few seconds the thermostat should make a soft click sound. This sound usually indicates the thermostat is operating properly. If the thermostat does not click, try the reset operation ( . If the thermostat does not click after being reset contact your heating and cooling service person or place of purchase for a replacement. If the thermostat clicks, contact the furnace manufacturer or a service person to verify the heating system is operating correctly.

Reset the thermostat by pressing , UP,DOWN and TIME at the same time.

I have the thermostat set for 70 degrees on the white rodgers programmable thermostat. The heat runs until the room is 70 degrees, but then the heat stops and the room cools off and the heater doesn't kick...

Based on your explanation this is an erratic operation of the thermostat, first thing that you need to check is the wiring make sure that all the wires are proper looped on the under terminals then reset the thermostat if the problem still persist I think you need to replace the thermostat.
