Buy the green light going on means Standby is ok. Next, would be to locate the plug coming from the main board to the power supply and find the post that says PO which means power on. With your meter on that post, press the power button as see if the reading goes High, if it does then the main board is able to turn on the power supply. Next, find the plug on the power supply that goes to the inverter( the long board on the side) remove it and see if you have 24 volts coming out of the power supply when you press the power. If you do, then the inverter board is bad, if you don't have 24 v, then the power supply is bad. There are NO diagrams available for these set other than a flow chart if you can find one. A regular svc tech does'nt need a manual for these anyway.
Let me know how you do Kathy ?

Blinking light is an error code. Count the blinks before they repeat. Check your manual in the troubleshooting section. If you can't find it, contact a Sharp service center or try and get a service manual. Reset info is also in the user manual but you can't do it if your set doesn't power up. Are you sure about the power board?

Testimonial: "Thank you. I will get another board."
The Sharp TV model LC32D40U / 41U "Black Screen problem" is a very well known issue. The inverter is losing ground contact which will prevent the back-light from staying on. The solution is to re-tighten six screws on the inverter board. You also would want to clean the copper contacts on then bottom of the inverter where the screws go through. Access to the inverter board will require some disassembly. Plan on taking at least three hours to repair. See the photo for the location of the screws. Use some "blue" locktight" on these six screws. There is actually a Sharp Technical Service Bulletin that describes these screws. Sharp wants you to replace these screws with a newer version. They cost at least $2.50 each! I think my method will work just as good using the "Locktight"

WELL FOLKS I just FINALLY found what I have been searching for, I own a Sharp LC 32SH12U LCD TV that has begun to show problems with it's picture, Now it's sound is great no change..But it has gotten to the point that when i first turn it on all I get are three or four bright WHITE lines on the right side of the screen. They are a bout one third from the very corner of the screen. After it warms up for a while, MOST of the time it will just pop up and go to working just fine, that is what was giving it away to me that it HAD to be a something generally easy to fix, And in all of my searching I FINALLY found what I was looking for..Rite here on FixYA.com...There it was right thre in PLAIN ENGLISH..(( The T-CON BOARD )) Timing Control or LCD Controller..Board. on teh LCD panel Assembly, It transfers the image signal of the TTL and LVDS signal to specific TFT but What you all really NEED TO KNOW is JUST what is going on with your TV set when the T-CON Board is going bad, And I am about to tell you....So her ya go..
