Is it the correct needle? Is the needle installed correctly? The flat part of the needle must be facing a particular direction when installed (consult your manual). If the needle still fails to penetrate the needleplate properly, take it for service. Something with the needle bar has shifted.

Why it wont the fabric does not move

There is a button or lever that controls the feed dog position. It might be dropped below the needle plate for darning. Locate this button and see if the feed dog are above the needle plate when you move the balance wheel.

Why wont my Juki DDL-8700 form a stitch?

machine is out of time and u probably have burrs on the hook since you broke the plate with a needle probably from pulling fabric and bending the needle. you instruction manual will tell u how to time machine and its really very simple. all u have to do is take off feeder plate, loosen the 3 screws that hold the hook then lower the needle with the wheel until the needle just starts to rise. bring the loose hook point to i/16 " fron the needle and tighten hook screws. machine must be tilted back to do this whole operation. it helps to have a short screwdriver to tighten the hook screws. remove burrs with lite emory paper stroking in the sale direction as the hook.

The feeder seems to be messed up, the needle wont go through properly nor will it go through the bobbin it hits the bobbin it is a brother csi6000

you can try changing the needle
but it sounds like the machine is out of time & needs to be checked for
timing issues & also to see if the needle bar is bent or damaged & to
see if the feed dogs are out of time or just need a adjustment

I have an xl2230.today the needle broke so i replaced with new one,and now the machine wont sew properly, its banging sometimes when it sews and the thread keeps breaking at the needle end and the fabr

try another needle
rethread the machine top & bobbin
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or threads

Need to remove needle plate

Remove the presser foot and needle. Press the feed-dog drop button on the right-hand end of the machine, so that the feed-dogs drop below the needle plate. Press the back right-hand-side of the needle plate firmly and the front left side should pop up. You can then lift the plate out to clean underneath etc. When replacing, put the hole in the plate over the locating lug at the front-right corner and make sure the right-hand-side of the plate is down first, before pressing the left-hand side down into the grey surround. Be careful not to use excess force if it wont go, otherwise you could break the retaining spring. When done, dont forget to press the feed-dog drop button again and rotate the handwheel once, so that the feed-dogs come back up again.'

Hope that helps

When threading my Viking sewing machine., the needle won't pick up the thread. I.ve used it 15 years. This is the 1st time this happened. Help...

Do you mean it wont pick up the bobbin thread? You need to get into the user's manual on removing the bobbin shuttle that the bobbin holder clips into (actually pretty easy, I clean ours yearly especially if fuzzy material like velour is sewn) and brush the fixed area out that the bobbin shuttle floats in then reassemble and test. Also remove the throat plate/needle plate and you'll find that fuzz/lint gets between the plat and the feed dogs keeping the dogs from coming up fully.

Also if thread breaks one thing to look for if you've had needles break is a burr around the oval opening in the plate where the needle goes into it. Small Swiss file takes care of the burr and no more burr to break/cut the threads.

On rare occasions you may find the actual bobbin carrier (the one that holds the bobbin and is clipped into the machine) gets worn and wont stay clipped into the shuttle that holds it. Replacing the bobbin carrier is needed then. A1 Sewing on the net carries parts for the #1, #1+ etc.

While I don't have specific solution for your problem, I have a similar problem with my "Euro-Pro 9101. My needle keeps breaking and it hits the needle plate. The needle plate is now very rough. Does anyone know what the solution might be?
