Question about HP J4680 Office Jet All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

My J4680 will not print B&W.

The colour will print fine but B&W will not print. The printer thinks it has printed it. I have replaced the cartridge but this hasn't solved the problem. I have tried updating the printer's firmware and also the pc software.
please help.

thanks

Check your black printer cartridge for clogged head. Take a soft papertowel and damp it with water(DO NOT use anything else), dab the printer head(bottom of cartridge) till you see a black line on the towel. Repeat 2-3 times, if ther is no black line, cartridge is defective or expired> Hopefully this helps

just check it weather it is detecting your pc or laptop. if it is detecting check it is scanning working fine or not, if it is scanning fine you need to update firmware and check it. still getting same issue you need to replace the main pca board.

My printer is hp laserjet cp 1515n. After printing some documents it writes "printing cool down mode" and begins working very slowly. Please help me

1515n - I have the Magenta colour 'shadowing' the blue test. A mirror image of the blue text. [slightly staggered] Black is fine. Applies to all Word docs when printing in blue - can you help please?
I only use genuine cartridges.

My J4680 only prints color, no black. Printer is

Your black cartridge is most definitely clogged. You can easily check that by removing the cartridge and press the print head on some tissue. If there is no mark, the print head on your black cartridge is clogged. Now, HP has some kind of software head cleaning. It doesn't always work, but you can try. Here is a link to HP site, referring to your problem: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01361894&cc=bg&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3692888
Read carefully and follow the instructions.
If that doesn't solve your problem, you should buy a new black cartridge.
Also, bear in mind that with ink-jet printers, you need to print something at least once in 10-15 days, otherwise the print head will again get clogged and you will be facing the same issue over and over again. If you do not print on a regular basis, make some kind of test page, that contains black, yellow, magenta and cyan. Print that page once in 2 weeks and your printer will always work fine.

Hi,

follow the step by step solution from kodak.

Choose All-in-one printer and then Print quality and follow the further steps. I think it's a problem with your printhead.
