0xc18a0401 appears on the screen after start up of the printer When trying to copie : same fault. Can you give me some advise.

Try resetting the printer. With the unit on, unplug the data cable (USB) from the back of the printer. (At times, unplugging the data cable from the computer helps). Then remove all of the ink cartridges and wait for the message "Insert Ink Cartridges" to appear. At this point, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Wait 60 seconds (or longer) then plug the power cord back in. Power on the printer if it doesn't come back on. Reinstall the ink cartridges when the unit prompts you to do so. Close the cover. Print a calibration page if you get a prompt to do so. (Do the complete calibration including scanning the calibration page.) Finally plug in the data cable (to both the printer and the computer if you completely disconnected it). .

Try printing again.

If the error persists, the unit needs service from HP. You will need to decide if the cost is worthwhile if the printer is out of warranty.

I hope this helps.

the toners are rated for a certain number of pages based on 15% coverage on the page. print a supplies usage page from the control panel on printer if available to show you how many pages you printer and what the coverage was.

calibration does use ink, but should not be that much.

If you are using non-HP toner, this may be why you don't full life out of them. Try HP toners and see if problem remains.
