My 1500 watt cobra power inverter shows "olp" wuth nothing connected. bought a new one also 1500 watt and as soon as i turn it on shows "olp" also.

Pop is over load protection. You may have gotten a bad inverter. When you do connect something to it does it go away? If so what size wires are you using? To small a gauge wires cause all kinds of problems.

3000 watt eliminator with OLP and LUP CODES any Ideas

Assuming you have a 12VDC In 120V AC out 3000W inverter.
LUP indicates battery voltage is low, so firstly make sure:

1. You 12V battery is good, it's large enough a minimum of 75AH and probably much larger is recommended and it's fully charged.
2. Verify you are using the correct size copper wires from battery to the Inverter DC INPUT(s). If you keep wire short the wire size can be smaller, but if the DC input wires are longer then you will need to use thicker copper wires.

At MAx load you would be taking 250 AMP from battery, so for a 5% Volatge drop of .6 V for a 10 ft length of cables from battery to Inverter you would need to use a 1AWG copper cable.

http://www.calculator.net/voltage-drop-calculator.html?material=copper&wiresize=0.4066&voltage=12&phase=dc&noofconductor=1&distance=10&distanceunit=feet&eres=125&x=37&y=8

OLP is a overload condition, which means you may have to many high powered AC powered things connected to the Inverters AC outlets or maybe something that has large start up surge, ie devices large electric motors.

Or it could be all due to a faulty Inverter.

There is a high pitch noise coming from the computer

The high pitch sound could be a faulty inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp that provides the back light. The inverter is located at the bottom edge of the LCD screen.
Replace inverter for your model notebook are available from one of these WEB sites.

Led light flashes on and off

The high pitch sound can be from the inverter transformers or from the lamps assemblies. You need to open it up and inspect the inside, look at the caps. See my pictures here so you will know what to look for inside.

Monitor Goes black, or flickers on and off

The high pitch sound is coming from the inverter. It is faulty and needs to be repaired or replaced. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp, this lamp gives the backlight to the LCD so you can see the LCD images.

If it is a very high pitch tone and it appears to come from the bottom edge of the LCD screen, it could be a faulty inverter. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp which provides backlight to the LCD display.

Screaming acer!

sometimes if the inverter board (the part that drives the backlight) has a cold solder joint on it, it can actually generate a high pitched resonating sound (aka a screaming squeal sound)

if it's under warranty, have the manufacturer correct the problem.

if not under warranty, retouch the solder points on the inverter board, or have a repair tech fix it for you.
