If your referring to the actual wires inside the motor , then a electric motor shop might b able to help u

If the motor comes with an aluminium head as standard going down the cast iron head route may require a custom cast head unless someone already has them in stock but without knowing the motor make and model and year your best bet is aluminium head again

Batterys charged, drill wont work at all, tried switch positions no change still not working


Your brushes are bad. The more expensive drills have removable vent covers on the back of the drill, one each side. Under them you will find a plate about the size of a dime. carefully move the plate around pulling it up. There will be a spring with a copper wire connected to a graphite looking block. This is your brush, sends juice to your motor. If the spring looks burnt or the brush is broken you will need to order a new set. If they look good you can try blowing the motor out with air. If you have a black and decker or skill drill the motor is not repairable. New brushes cost less than $10.

I am trying to find a stapling machine capable of stitching some heavy duty cloth into an aluminium channel section. The legs on the aluminium are 1.5mm thick. Can you help?


Its not going to work you can;t staple aluminum mabey try a strip that over the cloth drill and pop rivit but nothing that i know of will shout throgh aluminum the staples aren;t stroung enough and wouldn;t hold even if you could get them through

Dead DW972 Cordless Drill?


Easiest and safest: take the tool and batteries to nearest shop where they sell Dewalt. Ask the guy to let you use their batteries in your tool and vice versa, your batteries in their tool. DYI procedure:To check batteries: - if you have some multimeter, try to measure voltage and if possible also amps (but only for a fraction of the second, if battery is good, amperes shoudl jump up very quickly) - if you have no multimeter, try to find 12V bulb (check spare bulbs for your car), use wire to connect and it should light up. To check tool: open it up, take some 12V DC source, put wires on contacts inside the handle where battery connects. Pull the trigger and it should work. you can try to put wires directly to contacts on the motor. Follow cables from the switch to motor.

The drill smokes from the body area when drilling, but does work. Should i take it in for repair or can i do something myself?


It sounds like the motor is burnt up, give me the model number and brand and I will try and find a schematic that will help you. They are not that bad to repair just watch how everything comes apart and pay close attention to the wiring of the switch, it is polarity sensitive.

New ram for quinny buzz


Be sure it is the gas ram and not the cast aluminium anvil which the gas ram pushes against. The symtoms are similar
This 'L' shaped casting snapped in half on our Quinny Buzz and I managed to repair it by taking the whole centre hinge apart, drilling out the pin which holds one half of the aluminium anvil in place and removing this striaght piece of the anvil.
To repair I first glued the two parts together with araldite then held them in the vice whilst drilling through both pieces to a depth of about an inch with a 4mm tapping size drill. Then seperate the two parts, tap the shank out 4mm and drill the right angled bit 4mm clearance. Reconnect the two parts using a 4mm steel screw and some 'locktight'. Replace the anvil in its slot and replace the holding pin securing with araldite.
Reassemble the whole shooting match and it works ( well ours did....and still does!)
This seems to be a common problem but I could not find any spares. Also the holding pin for the anvil is not made to come out hence having to drill it out. So I doubt if any spares are available anyway.
Not easy and you need a few engineering tools to do the job. But much cheaper than a new frame assembly.
