If you have a mineral build-up there, use vinegar or citric acid solution to remove it. That sometimes helps.

I got an old treadle macine from a brother in LAW ,,AS A GIFT ... IT IS BEAT UP AND WONT TURN...WHEN THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED .....HOW DO I FIX THIS ??

Put the head (metal sewing machine no wood!!) in a heavy duty garbage ( yard bag) after you have sprayed it with WD40 on the parts that need to turn. Leave it in the bag ( in a nice hot garage) for a few days and then check to see how much give the parts are turning. Don't scrub any of the metal, just wipe gently when you see some of the corrosion and then keep putting it back in the bag and rechecking. Use more WD40 as needed. Good luck, hope this helps... Worked for me!

Ice wont eject from mold

lglasoe --
Owners Manual is available online at:
If ice is getting stuck in the mold, it usually can be removed using a plastic (not metal) tool to eject it. Sometimes using a cooking spray like PAM (very lightly) on the ice mold can reduce the tendency for the cubes to stick. If you are still having a problem, write back. -- SWT

Ice machine is only making flakey size ice. Machine is clean and filters have been changed. Water is flowing and cold; it appears that the machine is in constant operation.

sounds like there is a problem with the water in the sump escaping. Sometimes, the plastic grate under the evap plates break and pieces get stuck in the dump valve. It is a triangular piece that the pump attaches to via a hose. It is spring loaded and the pieces prevent it from seating, thus, water leaks into the drain that you will not notice. When the water level in the sump gets low enough, it goes into a harvest and drops small slivers of ice. I'd check that out first.
Hope this helps.

How do I take the cage off so I can clean the dish?

If you don’t mind VOIDING YOUR WARRANTY, there’s a point at the bottom of the grate where an elongated spine pokes through a tiny hole in the metal dish. Use a screwdriver to pry the metal retaining lip of the dish back from that spot, and pop the grate out by applying pressure to lift the spine out of that hole, and the grate from the dish. BUT the problem is getting the grate BACK IN the metal lip when you are done cleaning. I opted to modify the grate slightly. I used a hacksaw to cut a tiny 1/8-inch section of the outer ring away from the bottom of the grate and removed the retaining spine in the same spot (from inside the ring) to allow enough flexibility to be able to squeeze the grate together to get it back in the dish’s metal lip. Now I can get the grate in and out, but when in, it is still secure enough to be able to lift the heater by grabbing the top of the grate to carry it.

My iceomatic ice machine is not producing ice. There is ice frozen to the grate and water is not running

Could be a bad water solenoid. Could also be because it needs to be cleaned. If there is ice stuck to the evaporator, the hot gas bypass is not working. Try cleaning the unit first.

My ice maker MAKES the ice but doesn't dispense it.

yes. completely warm up the ice maker with a blow dryer until the metal is all dry then spray it with the cooking spray called pam. just regular pam, no other. this will lubricate everything and it will work like a charm. rememer tho it can take up to 24 hours before it will make ice again.

Water leaking from freezer compartment and icemaker problems

I can help with the puddles on the floor. Most likely your freezer drain is plugged. This site and others on the internet helped me solve my problem. Take off the back shroud and empty the freezer compartment. Take the screws out of the lower grate at the back of the freezer compartment. You can get the lower panel out with a little effort. The freezer coils are exposed. Below them is a kind of small light metal trough with a drain hole in the middle. You don't see it at first because it is covered with ice. I used a hair dryer to melt the ice. When it melted enough I removed a thin cake of ice to expose the drain. The drain was still frozen until I poured hot tap water in the trough several times. Inside the back of the refrigerator on the right is a little rubber coupling that connects the drain tube from below the coils and metal trough at a right angel to a tube that runs to a drain pan on the low left side at the back. After taking the coupling loose so I would not damage it, I put a thin screwdriver down through to finally unclog the drain. I recoupled the drain line, wiped up the floor and put everything back together. Everything works. Saved at least $150 and it only took about an hour. Oh, yes, the small hex screws on the back and the inside grate use the same small socket screwdriver. A lot handier than using a pair of pliers.
