Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera
This is a firmware problem that is common with many many digital cameras. It will have to be upgraded. The company will do this for $50
Otherwise you may be able to find a kit online and do it which would be hard to located

I had the same problem with my camera. After doing some research I learned the focus/lens may be stuck. I opened the camera up, wiggled the lens a little, and put the camera back together and it works again.
