Question about Sewing Machines

My1866 is set for straight stitch but I am getting the wrong stitches, How do I reset so it is corrected to straight stitch? Ran fine before.

Seems to go to blind hem stitch or uneven straight stitch, then quits stitching. Manual doesn't identify the problem or resolution. Help? Please??

Hi What does the symbol for blind hemming look like

The blind stitch would look like a couple of straight stitches and then a :"V" shaped zig-zag that will zag left to catch the very edge of the folded fabric.

here's the manual: (pgs 55-56)

How to do blindstitch hem with a pfaff 1035. I have the blind stitch foot

You need to also have a blindstitch stitch on your machine. It looks something like this:

The straight stitch segment is stitched on the hem fabric, but the V portion zags over and catches a couple threads in the fold on the wrong side of the garment fabric.

I put the stitch in center of dial but it still does straight.what is wrong

If you want a zig-zag stitch, you need to set the stitch WIDTH selector to a higher number. Sounds like you may be changing the stitch Length selector which simply makes a longer straight stitch.

My thread keeps bird nesting on the bottom of my fabric what am I doing wrong? What are the correct settings for a straight stitch?

Is your bobbin threaded correctly? You should be able to pull out the thread slowly while feeling it very slightly holding back. It should not pull out easily or quickly.
Could be something wrong with your tensions, try adjusting the upper tension first by starting at the middle setting and working gradually higher and then lower till you get a neat even stitch.

How to turn up a hem with no stitching showing on outside plz

Good evening to you and your sewing machine.
If you have the manual there is probably a certain program for doing the hem this way in the machine.
If you are a little nervous of using the machine to do the hem you could do it by hand with what was called in my younger days " invisible stitch" or you can practice on a piece of cloth in the machine, take a look here Magic Invisible Closure and here

Hi, I have purchased an adjustable blind hem foot for my Classica 90. Would you please advise what the setting for blind hemming is on the sewing machine is? I cannot locate it. Thank you.

Unfortunately, after reviewing your machine's manual, your manual does not indicate that your machine provides a blindhem stitch. The blindhem stitch generally is a stitch that takes several straight stitches and then zags to the left to catch the garment fabric. You can, however, use a zig-zag. You will just have more stitches into the garment that may show on the right side.

How do I stop my Juki DDL-8700 machine from skipping stitches?

set up on quilting table? wheres the oil pan?? if your machine sews fine straight and skips on curves i think you are lifting the presser ft as you make the turn. theres nothing wrong with the machine. you could always change the needle which is always the first thing when you encounter a sewing problem.

Singer 756 zigzag timing is off

The machine may be slightly out of time so it works in straight stitch but not zig-zag.

Zigzag stitch not catching

try these suggestions and see if they help

Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
