Run it with the cover off and see what is happening. Chances are something is physically out of place and you should be able to fix it. Check the home lock. When the sled goes all the way to the left, it should engage a little lever on the top. This tells the sled it is at the home position. If this lever is out of place, then the sled doesn't know where it is at.

SL MC6 110+1 disc changer door gets stuck at about a fingertip's width. Seems to be small plastic guides and the one on the left seems to be stuck. Anyone know how to unstick it?

if you have kids, it is likely that they put something in it. even if that's not the case, you may have to open it to fix the problem. best luck to you!

My technics SLMC6 has a message running saying 'checking discs' and it will not do anything else.

Drive mechanism failure. My Technics unit had a similar problem which turned out to be drive belt failure.

Discx wont play.I've used cleaning disc.I have to clean each time before I want to use the payer.Often the cleaning disc wont work either

If cleaning doesn't help then the laser unit is probably going bad. It can be replaced by a repair shop.
