that link will take you to buy a replacement for 28.00. It may seem like a lot but its worth it in the long run.

SOURCE: portable dvd player insignia ns-pdvd10 screen problem

Check the screen switch on the right top side where the door closes there is a little circle and the release switch usually gets jammed (this is a common defect) you will need a small thin flat head screwdriver to pry out the switch.

Portable DVD player

One simple way to check if it's the player acting up or if it's in a different mode is to switch the SOURCE toggle on the left side of the player (above the headphone jacks). If the switch is flipped, the player is set to be a monitor for a different source device (i.e. connecting a VCR or DVD player to the portable player to use the screen and speakers).

If this doesn't work, then you should take the player back to Best Buy to be looked at by a technician.

I have this same DVD player and had the same problem. I have recently discovered that when we open the flip top, one of the "joints" that keeps the flip top attached to the player kind of pops out? We had to snap it back into place after opening the DVD player. Our light still does not come on but the player does work. Just a suggestion!

make sure your player is set to the video output, and not set for internal use.

Acoustic solutions dvd-222 portable player

i have had this player for over a year and its the worst player i have ever had the misfortune to own, the best thing for this player is to shove it in a black bin liner and go to the nearest canal, then thow the mother in!!
even thats to good for it!
when i owned this player it seemed fine, put a normal cd in it then after it never played dvds again!
never had the blue scrren bit tho but ther is a line in/out switch on the side which may be somthing to do with it.

will never buy anything with the name "acoustic solutions" again. until they change their name to " a box full of second hand wires and chips and a load of crap Solutions"

Craig portable dvd player CTFT701

My screen would flicker when you tilted it back and forth. Sometimes it would cut out and moving it would make it come back on. I took the battery off and opened the screen from the front(2 screws in hinge & 2 screws under rubber plugs). There is a ribbon plug inside. Mine looked kinked in one spot so I just repositioned it so the kink was in another spot. Everything worked fine after that. Hope this helps.
