Question about Vivitar ViviCam 6320 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I have a Vivitar Vivicam 6320. There was an AC adaptor but that has been mislaid. I would like to use a generic adaptor. Any help would be appreciated.

The camera uses 2xAA batteries re-chargeable. There is a hole to accept the adaptor input so I presume the input is via a male plug.

There are universal adapters that have several common voltages with a selector switch. They come with different style interchangeable plug ends, so one of them will fit your camera.

Original Power Powerline 1300 mA Universal AC Adapter One similar to this will work well for you.

Testimonial: "Thank you. Should I be aiming for 3.3v DC output and 1300mA? Is polarity an issue? PS I'm in the UK and Powerline here is a completely different product."

Thanks again. How do I determine what polarity to use?

look at the camera's power jack. There will be a raised diagram near it which will indicate the center pin polarity.

That's how it's normally done. The 6320 has just "DC IN 3V" at the jack input, which is why I was asking. Thanks, anyway, for the reply. Both of my AC adapters are short of the 1300mA of the Powerline- 300mA and 600mA. I'm still looking for a 1300mA here in the UK. I'm going to treat it as positive on the jack pont and hope for the best.

I bought a 4g memory card and it will not format.

The 6320 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed to take them. You will have to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.
