More likely the transformer has a shorted winding.

The minute hand is loose on our Howard Miller 625-304 wall clock. How do we access the hands, and how do we tighten them?

Open the bezel/glass and there will be a dial nut on the end of the hands, just tighten it up.

There was a power surge and my Brother Innovis 600 sparked loudly with smoke coming out of the vents. It won't turn on. What do I do?

Hopefully this has a built in power supply. This would be the first place to look at. When the smoke comes out it is not a good thing !
I would check the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply circuitry. You may be lucky and could get away with only needing a replacement power supply , however other components may have been damaged there is no way of knowing if the power supply blowing up protected the other circuits in your device. if smoke had not come out I would check for fuses but with smoke a voltage regulator , capacitors in the power supply or even power diodes could be smoked and broken.
Find out by smelling what smells of smoke to narrow down the damage location.

I plug in my miller 304 cc cv welder, 220 voltage, the numbers flash randomly, wont balance out, wont weld, any solution

What does the voltage window display? If it is reading open circuit voltage then check your leads. You could have a front control board failed if not. You should probably take it to a miller tech to have pre power checks performed.

I have a HEL p-6 code on a xmt 304 how do I fix it

Sounds like a input power problem . Make sure voltage is correct coming to the unit and wired correctly. I checked a Miller welder recently ,auto link that would come on and weld but not good . Took cover off and it was wired wrong .

304 inverter: fan does not come on. unit overheats and stops

Hi:

On this unit the fan is on demand, but if it does never come on, you should send it to your nearest repair shop, your machine has 3 years warranty. Before you send it to the repair shop, try to reduce the operating voltage.

Good luck.
