Yes the software has been corrupted on your phone, not sure if there is anything to do to save the data on the phone at this point. Before you proceed I would go into a local Alltel office to see if they can backup the data for you. It is definitely not a bad circuit board or whatever the other person said.

Have you downloaded the latest software?, do this on a PC, that way you won't need to use the phone screen, if that doesn't cure the problem you have a defective logic circuit and the phone will need to be repaired.

Soft Reset Put your stylus in the hole in the lower center below the micro SD slot Soft Reset will reboot your device just like when you reboot your PC. No data will be lost, under normal circumstances that is.
Hard Reset Hold down two upper "Soft Keys" (below the Screen with the round dots) and at the same time put your Stylus pen in the soft reset hole.
Hard Reset will delete all data you have put on the device, Programs, Settings, Mail, SMS, MMS, etc.

After a hard reset, you will have a complete clean new install of Windows Mobile on your device

Probably not, you can try and see if your computer detects it and if it comes up on my computer or if you can explore it with active sync or mobile device center depending on if your using xp or vista... if it doesn't then no, its not fully started up and the file transfer functions wont work, anything on a memory card will not be affected but Anyway suggest to remove it from the phone.

  • Ekse Jul 20, 2009

can't be done, I'm sorry. What do you have to lose anyway if you already both another phone for her?

  • Ekse Jul 20, 2009

You know, the data is probably already gone, I don't think theres anything to recover even if it was possible in this state.

The Ram, where the data is stored gets cleared when the battery is removed and if it has a backup battery when the backup goes, there goes all your data at the same time.

The rom, can be take from the phone, but that only contains the system, not any of your data.

at this point I don't think that you would succeed in recovering your data from the device.

This phone will have to be upgraded or updated either by usb program or by cellular carrier which I do recommend.

My htc ppc6800 froze so I took out the battery and now it won't load Windows, only a white screen that reads alltel. What can I do?

Damanian, What you tell me shows that your device is alive but ailing.Try powering it on with the memory card removed. If it still does not powerup, then I suggest that you remove the memory card and re-install the firmware as that seems to have got corrupted somehow. And get it re-installed from the service center as they can overwrite eveything including a virus if any.

Converting HTC PPC6800-US Cellular to Alltel-can this be done?

Yes, and No. Both companies want to see their cases on each phone (us cellular is actually blank). Alltel maintains a list of ESNs of all the phones they bought and sold in database. If your ESN aint there, they probably won't activate it.

But, the software for alltel versionof PPC6800 is located at htcamerica.com
