SOURCE: ti-83 plus ram cleared message when turned on

It calculator tells you Ram Cleared each time you turn it on, the most likely reason is that the backup battery is depleted. Its role is to keep the memory modules electrically refreshed when calculator is turned off. If the backup battery is dead, the memory is erased when you turn calculator OFF. Main batteries no longer supply power and the contents of the memory are cleared.

  1. Check that main batteries are good and inserted in calculator.
  2. Turn calculator OFF.
  3. Replace the backup battery.
  4. Turn calculator ON.
  5. Press the [CLEAR] key to erase the "Ram Cleared" message.

How to solve trig functions using ti-83 plus

Your best bet would be trying a math package on ti-calc.org - you can usually find something that does what you want there. You'll need a cable and the software to download these programs to your calculator. Here's a link to the trig section:

You can't simply enter 7x+9=30 into the calculator, there is a way to calculate what the x is but its been a few years since I've done these..

I need to find decreasing and increasing intervals and I dont know how to do this on my TI 83

While your TI-83 plus cannot explicitly find increasing or decreasing intervals, it can find the minimum(s) and maximum(s) of a function.
Press the "Y=" button.
Enter the equation in "y=" format into the first open equation.
Press the "GRAPH" key.
If the maximum and minimum of the curve are not shown in the window it has, press ZOOM->0.
Press 2ND->CALC (under the "TRACE" key).
Press 3 if you are trying to find a min, 4 if you're trying to find a max.
It will ask for bounds. Enter a left and right bound by looking at the graph itself and choosing a left bound that is clearly to the left of the min/max, and a right bound clearly to the right of the min/max.
Then it will ask you to guess a value. You can skip this step by pressing ENTER instead of entering a value.
It will calculate the value. To find increasing/decreasing intervals, just know that every interval with a minimum as the left bound and a maximum as the right bound is increasing, and vice versa.

Why do some TI83 program work on a TI84 plus and other don't?

Ti 83 and ti84 really have no difference and operate the same. There was something different or you had varibles used by multiple programs that conflicted w/ the ti84 and it would have done the same on the ti83. If you like to rework it and need help email me at raklein62@yahoo.com

My ti-83 plus has OS problem

That happened to me a few years ago - my friend tried to give me his operating system, and my calculator was all locked up like that for a while. There's some kind of reset code - pressing some buttons while putting a battery in - but it's been a while, so I don't remember which buttons.
